LootHunter: You still don't get it. Yes, the same joke can be made for different reasons and with different intents. But how can you discern which intent in which joke? Do you really believe that it is enough to be "remotely intelligent" person to see what was the purpose of one speach or the other?!
I'm not Telika but my argument would be that while we can't know for sure in all instances obviously we should we always use our patience and understanding before making accusations. Too often however terms like "racist" are thrown out casually, which makes them less important. As I think Telika was attempting to convey, we have to consider context and intent before using that word.

Good example is the recent Netflix executive resignation due to saying the "n-word" in the context of a human resources meeting. His intent was clearly benign, but simply because the word passed his lips he was forced to resign in scandal. That's asinine, and any intelligent person should fight against that kind of knee-jerk cultural attitude. I said the "n-word" quite often in college, in a scholarly context. Should I lose my job today? I hope you wouldn't think so.

(Which forces me to point out I'm not talking about Gunn, who was doomed by working for Disney of all companies, as I said earlier in the thread).

AlienMind: george carlin said fuck the children once. good thing he's safe from the sjw pitchforks.. for now.
kinda funny that those people are so busy flipping out about the things someone says that they have no time left for the people who actually do these things. but that would require a spine and work.
The thing is that when Carlin said what he said he wasn't referring to having sex with them...there is a difference.

Are they now? And whose fault is that? Who insisted on making any type of racial bias, any expression of interest for own race (well, actually that attitude was fostered towards only one specific race, which in turn IS racist), and simply not being ashamed about belonging to the national majority to be called "racism" and being equated to discrimination?

Yes, of course. In fact, Telika is also trying to convey that only people versed in "political sciences and discourse analysis" are worthy to judge about context and intent and conduct trials over those who are suspected of being racist. (Seriously, read his comment above. He literally uses such words as "judge", "trials", "belief" - as if he is a part of Inquisition of some sort.)

But alas! Other people for some reason are not eager to trust their souls (and their jobs) to those, who extremely versed in political discourse.

Wow, I thought you were coming from a completely different position. My mistake, that's what I get for jumping into other people's debates. You're not someone I want to talk to, have a nice day.

Ah, so I am a racist now. Have a nice day too.
I just wasted 20 minutes of my life reading this thread only to remind myself that the right and conservative right will never agree on anything.

There is no left in America anymore. Just intolerance, more intolerance, and forced tolerance of ideas and ideals that are not social norms.

Good day.
Silly move from Disney, guess I will not go to the cinma for the third movie.

He should not have apologized for using that word in the context of teaching - particularly teaching which words are bad words. You shouldn't apologize when you're right. Apologizing means you did something wrong. I guess if you want somebody fired, just ask them the name of Lovecraft's cat on Twitter -_-

He wanted to say it but that would hypocritical in context with his last statement on the overuse of the word racist.

Funny seeing people comment with "I didn't see what he wrote, but I know it was a joke." I was a fan of Carlin, and I don't remember Carlin spouting off how fun it is to rape children. When George Carlin said "F--- the children" he was talking about societies trend to censor things in order to "protect the children".

Why do I get the feeling that most people seem to comment on things without investigating at all. This is like the 6th time I've seen people say Carlin did the same this...well, fact is he didn't, and if you were really one of his fans, you'd know that...

OK smarty pants. I read it. “The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!’”
You're implying this not a joke? You're funny. I don't even need to see context to know this a joke. Real rapists write things in way fewer interconnected subtility. In fact, they don't even write. They just rape. Disney is on drugs.

And you also read the other 20 tweets right? You're the one who's funny. Arguing about something before you even read it, then skim one line and say its all certainly a joke. Like the one's talking about raping children? Laughing about kids getting gizzed on. Really funny, those jokes there.

But of course you didn't...why talk about something you know a damn thing about, right? Better for you just to be a troll...
