recently, i was helpless with running gog game return to castle wolfstein on w10 so last thing i decided to try was installing galaxy and mentioned game via galaxy if it would work that way.

ok. what happened. wolfstein didnt work that way anyway but its not what i can say.

after installing galaxy the file gog games where i kept all games installed without galaxy somewhat disappeared! all shortcuts on desktop became unfunctional leading to nowhere!!!

mainly im angry at that i lost positions (saves) on that games!

I wonder if during the installation there was some pre-checked checkbox you missed about migrating all installed GOG games into Galaxy?

nothing migrated into galaxy.. there is only that return to castle wolfstein. but gog games file vanished and shortcuts are not functional any more.

nothing is possible to find by windows search (just archives of that games cause i didnt delete them), nothing is in recycle bin.. all happen when installing galaxy

Well first of all, if only the installation directories of the game vanished your saves might still be intact. Most modern games keep their saves in the User directories rather than the install dir itself (but of course this varies greatly depending on each game).

As for Galaxy deleting an arbitrary folder... sounds weird. The GOG Games folder in entirety disappeared? Usually uninstallation of games will still leave the target folder itself.

Out of interest, exactly where is this folder located? Did you keep it in Program Files (often the default installation directory the installers offer) or was it in a custom location?

I can't help you with Galaxy issues as I don't use it, but for RTCW under W10 have you tried the unofficial patch?

RtCW works perfectly on Win10. I just played it a month or so ago, in 4k no less.
