Just click at More, Download Extras and then select the Game Installer at the left. Works for me!
I'm having the same problem here in Finland, so it must be the client that's having the problem. It's in beta, so I'm sure It'll get fixed quite soon.

In any case, we have a week to download the game so even with a 0,1mb/s download speed there's enough time :D

Metaljesus: Hi folks!

I'm currently trying to download The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt via GOG Galaxy ...
The download speed however is crawling slow ...
I have a 75mbit/s connection, yet the client only downloads with 0.1mbit/s. I did a speedtest to see whether my connection is crapy, but nope - 75mbit/s as it is supposed to be...

I live in Austria - don't know where the GOG Servers are located...

Anybody else experiencing extremely slow download speeds or is it just because the download for W3 became available recently?

Best wishes!
same for me

zecee: This is NOT a distribution problem at all. It's an issue with the Galaxy Beta Client.

Check out my reply at in the W3:WH forum. Meanwhile I'd suggest that people having problems use the GoG Downloader.
I've seen your post and rest assured we're contacting selected users and asking for the logs to triple-check what issues they might be having. It's not a global issue with the Client however - I've just finished installing the game @ 20 MB/s using it and we see lots of users getting some really high download rates. But we will look into this anyway.

Having that said I'd also like to point out two important things before drawing any conclusions
- at this moment there are times more users in the Galaxy than on the website. Any by more I do mean factor of tens
- Galaxy installation mode downloads completely different files in a completely different way than standalone installer from the website / Downloader / Client. It also means completely different propagation for these files
- we're currently pushing dozens of petabytes per hour (and yes vast majority of that goes through the Client)

same problem here.
Gog CDN GW:

gs1.wpc.v1cdn.net [93.184.221.131]
I'm having the same issue, should get around 1.2 MB/s but it's constantly going between 0 and 1.

C:\WINDOWS\system32> tracert cdn.gog.com

Same here 1 MiB/s or less per Galaxy and 21 MiB/s per GOG Downloader.

Same CDN

gs1.wpc.v1cdn.net [93.184.221.131]

wirh 32ms latency.

Hi!

Just out of curiosity I would love to know what speeds you get after minimizing the client.
Just click the X at the upper right corner, the program should minimize to the notification section of the task bar.

about 10 minutes later maximize the window and quickly look at the download speeds.

I noticed that whenever the client is minimized download speeds rise, maximizing the window reduces speeds ...

Would be nice if other people could take a look at that too.

Well that explains a lot. I was completely baffled at how widely different the speeds from the site and the client were and the facts you stated has certainly shed some light on the matter.
All in all I'm still very happy about preordering the game and even at a very slow speed people should be able to get the game in time and there is always the website as an alternative.
Thank you so much for your reply.

P.S. I am also gonna leave me treaceroute and ping results here. Hopefully it will help GoG in some way.

download via gog downloader its quicker
Does this download via torrent or something similar? Could the ISP be throttling it?
After a crash of galaxy application now the speed is 0.0 MB/s...
The Speed is really abysmal, 30% of what i normally get...
Gave up on Galaxy and went with the GOG Downloader and am getting a constant speed.
I have the same problem, usually I have a download of around 2-2.3 MB/s, but using Galaxy most of the time the client is reporting 0.0 MB/s and I frequently get between 0.1 and 0.3. Very rarely do I actually get a speed any higher than this. My client also randomly crashed at some point during the download when I was afk, and I have sent a crash report about that too.

When using tracert I get:

tracert cdn.gog.com

My average ping to that server is only 7ms though.

Hope this helps.
