I truly *love* this band!
Do you know of one of their main inspirations, Gong? Less electronic, but a very *very* good progressive rock band ;)
A wild mix of genres:

Brian Finnegan - Belfast
BadBadNotGood - Flashing Lights
Bohren und der Club of Gore - Maximum Black
Buckethead - King James
Charlie Darker - This Automatic
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Storm
Justice - Phantom Part 1 & 2
Mogwai - Auto Rock
My Sleeping Karma - Sarasvati
Nine Inch Nails - Just Like YOu Imagined
The Notwist - Moron
The Notwist - Lineri
Pixies - Letter to Memphis (instrumental)
This Will Destroy You - Quiet
Tocotronic - Tag ohne Schatten
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing
Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr Quartett - You Are a Friend of Mine
Sixto Sounds, Steppo & Zircon - The Passing of the Blue Crown
Hidria and Ozrics - live and with beer, yes please! :P

Been warming up today to Approaching Nirvana (which I discovered at the currently live groupees.com bundle)
...not all of the songs are instrumental, but seems like about 80-90%...

From the all time favourites:
-Carbon Based Lifeforms : Hydroponic Garden ... https://carbonbasedlifeforms.bandcamp.com/album/hydroponic-garden
-Ott : Blumenkraft ... https://ottsonic.bandcamp.com/album/blumenkraft-2
If you have nothing against slightly melancholic & jazzy electro music I can strongly recommend Squarepushers "Hard Normal Daddy". Damn great piece of music.
If These Trees Could Talk - Red Forest (Album)

Long Distance Caling - Apparitions (song) from the album, Avoid the Light - Definitely, give the full album a listen. Small few vocals on... I think, The Nearing Grave, but really adds to the album

Rosetta - Soot (song) From the LP, Flies to Flame - LP is like... an hour long, so give it a full listen. Beautiful album

A great band? *A* great band?!
Gong is *the* greatest band EVER!!
Some favourites:

Mono (Japanese post-rock)

Russian Circles (post-metal)

Julia Kent (cellist, used to work with Rasputina)

Good instrumental music eh?
I'd suggest some old 8bit OSTs.
Contra and Super C (Super Contra) never fail me. They are fast, menacing and the riffs and melodies have emotion.

Super C :

8bitStereo's version are better than the original for me.
<span class="bold">2Cellos</span>.

<span class="bold">Lindsey Stirling</span>.

<span class="bold">Sungha Jung</span>.

You're welcome.

Mike Oldfield

I totally forgot about the Red Sparrowes. Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun & At the Soundless Dawn are two great albums!
