Alebersol: Why it is not available for Linux too, since it is a DOSBOX game, and, easily extracted from the windows .EXE ?
I'm no Van GOG but I'll try to answer anyways: Because GOG does not have rights to distribute this game in Linux (yes, they need to sign separate agreement for this).

One More Linux port that might appear here: Momodora - Reverie Under The Moonlight

The porting team are currently dealing with some issues with the port, I assume once these are dealt with it will be released here. You can follow their progress on this Steam thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/428550/discussions/0/2860219962082753445/?ctp=4

It's standard practice. When you enter into an agreement to distribute a game, you sign for a specific set of things and nothing more.

GOG got most of their catalogue back before they were interested in Linux and they've been slowly adding Linux versions to their back catalogue as they manage to renegotiate the contracts.
@LinuxVanGOG can you try Eschalon (any of the three) using AMD cards please?
It's quite sad for the Metro series. It's one of the rare game which the devs have ported the right way. I mean the games runs better than the windows version by quite a margin.

So, apparently, Linux version removal at launch is OK now… Good job! Not.

There were technical issues with the build sent by the developer & we're currently waiting for fixes. Sorry for the inconvenience!

In such cases, please consider adding a preicsion in the release announcement that the Linux version is delayed and not cancelled. It would avoid penguins getting too angry ;)

Thanks for the clarification!

Sadly, this did not make it into the news…

Already saw this article, but thank you!
Alas, this is not true. The game is not a day-1 release, so it won't be a day-1 purchase. Maybe later, when I have the right mood… :)
Just wanted to Thank you guys at GOG for linux care :) ...and for drm-free in general. Galaxy is my 2nd favorite gaming client.(after steam), however no galaxy on Ubuntu-like OSs :( it a sad thing. Would love to see it there some day.
tnx
I would rather love to see Galaxy API being opened, and letting the community to produce their own client.

(yes, I have low-enough expectations of internal GOG team in terms of SW development quality, judging by their work on web front end and windows galaxy client to rather prefer the other people having a go, even if it would take much longer until something usable would emerge ... then again, considering how long it is since the galaxy for linux was first time announced, would they opened the API then, maybe there would be already some decent client in existence by now).

Actually the whole designing of the protocols and API could have been done as community effort, can't see what kind of loss would that be for GOG, as I'm pretty sure if they would let best SW developers to comment on the stuff for few months, they would end with very reasonable and future-proof architecture, so it would allow for quick incorporation into games under development and being resilient in future in case the GOG services go down, etc...

And there's still chance to do it, like "gog galaxy 2.0" effort, only the opportunity to have it finished by today was lost few years back, but it's not like it is now "too late", there still decades of time to do it "right"...
