New mechanics, features, and a better open world!

Man O' War: Corsair, the game of warfare and exploration on the open-seas of Warhammer, has been with us in development for a few weeks now. The team behind the game has been helping us test drive beta channels in GOG Galaxy – as well as an exciting, upcoming feature we call the developer pipeline. They're both designed to make updates easier to deliver, and faster to get to you by cutting out the middleman (us).

After a good run in the game's beta channel, the major Update 0.2 is now publicly available – bringing in new game mechanics, fixes, and an expanded open-world experience. Check out the video below for the highlights!

Beta Update Trailer

Enabling Beta Channels
If you'd like to try out the newest (but not necessarily stable) updates for Man O' War: Corsair — check out the beta channels in GOG Galaxy. See how to enable this for any eligible title: http://gph.is/1rVAa2e

PincushionMan: What's that screen capture program you are using? I could use something like that where i work.

Not that I'm working right now or anything...
If you're on a Mac, screen recording is built-into QuickTime Player - and surprisingly functional for basic stuff like this. :)

Marioface5: This developer pipeline thing sounds exciting. I'm glad to see that GOG is working on making it easier for developers to update their games here.

apehater: beta updates for a game that is in development already?

omega64: "unstable" updates usually.
From what I've gathered some games have only delivered stable updates here instead of all updates as on Steam.
Yup, that's what it is. Updates normally aren't rolled out unless they're properly tested – the beta update channel is usually for the ones that are still being tested.

And yeah, the developer pipeline thing sounds pretty exciting doesn't it? On a completely personal note, I totally hope it'll make delayed updates much, much less of a concern.

MBiL_248: Yes, it does, but how will that work with the offline installers? Does Galaxy automatically create a new updated installer or will GOG staff do so with some delay?
Don't quote me on this (ha-ha), but my understanding is that offline installers are/will continue to be prepared and tested by us, basically business as usual.

A developer pipeline being possible was always one of the biggest perks of GOG Galaxy for us. I actually think this solution might be the best of both worlds, if an auto-update breaks something, you can then use rollback or grab an offline installer.

MBiL_248: Thanks for your reply, it's absolutely fine for me as long as I get my highly appreciated offline installers sometime. :-)

(... sorry for quoting you on this ...)
Like Konrad basically stated, once the beta version becomes the main version of the game, we will update the installers :)
