Now, question of quality, from what I've heard this remake is pretty good, but still doesn't manage to surpass original unlike Resident Evil 2 remake, am I wrong?
REmake 2 didn't surpass the original. It was prettier, that's all it was. There were so many bad decision made.

I can't be the only one who saw Silent Hill 2 and then was disappointed it wasn't the original?

Impressive that this is here, though I would have loved to see this released side by side with the original (which would have been an instant buy for me).

It's *so* nice to see GOG reducing the downtime between big releases, granted they probably won't be able to keep this up forever and that's fine, but getting a highlight every 1-2 weeks is really cool :D

Indeed - if this would have come with the 2003 'Restless Dreams' PC port out-of-the-gate this would have been an instant purchase.

Now it's a wait-and-see.

On the contrary, the RE2make has some detractors (and the criticism is solid), while Silent hill 2 remake was unamously praised by long time fans and the general public

So not sure about surpassing the original, but between the two, this is the better remake

Never heard of that version but seeing as its got a pc port and is older I would think that release would both fit Gog better both for the fact its a old game given how Gog stood for Good Old game and it'd be keep a piece of gaming history alive .. aswell as I doubt it'd be anywhere near as hard to convince Konami to allow that on one the store in general unless they'd worry it'd divert sales from the remake of Silent Hill 2 and if Konami feared that a simple soletation could have been like'' we could have it where it can only be gotten with buying the silent Hill 2 remark'' or something Gog could have tried if they didn't anyway on that factor

Tell that to Yahtzee and me, we disagree. Then again, I disagree with Yahtzee and think SH3>SH2, so what do I know?
