I have got few questions how to get different versions (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X).

Just go to our downloads page:
http://www.age-of-fear.net/index.php/aof-downloads

scroll down and paste your License Key (you got it in mail when you ordered game).
You can select system you have. All installers are roughly 450MB.
The same license key will work on all three systems and you do not need another key to play multi-player.

After playing for a week (single and multi-player), I have few points I want to make:

Pluses:
- AI is smart and does not cheat
- sound battle system (shielding artillery, flanking, formations, etc.)
- interesting, varied units
- three armies with unique strategies (undead, human, orcs)
- well balanced for multiplayer
- good fantasy story
- novel magic system

Cons:
- graphic & sound are 2D
- no voice for story
- uninteresting demo (tutorial-like, gets better later)

Overall: 8/10 (+1 if you like being evil necromancer)

Interesting. Downloading the demo, will check it out later, after I get off work.

Unfortunately, demo does not show the best features of the game. I have exchanged few mails with developers and it seems the demo has been rushed over to meet the deadline.

Few examples: in game you can temporary gain control over enemy units (the best feature IMHO, AI uses that in pretty nasty way) or you can throw area attacks (like Poison Cloud, Fireball, etc.) or use suicide bombers. IMHO, those things are clearly missing from demo.

That's their first game and I would like to see more from them, especially that good TBS are rare and they seem to be nice guys altogether.

Edit:
Make sure you play on Novice first - this game IS challenging on normal and hard.
(However, AI does not cheat as far as I know!)

New version (v1.4.0) is available in Downloads section on our site

Changes:
- online version check - game will connect to our site and notify user if there is newer version available (optional - can be switched off).
- optimizations for graphic display - should work ca. 20% faster
- optimizations for AI processing - should work ca. 35% faster (and smarter!)
- segmented health bar - displays HP directly
- various bug-fixes


We are also working with distributors to patch already existing versions, however it can be slow sometimes.
Please mail us directly if bought game from different source and you want new version ASAP.

Please let us know if you find any bugs or errors - we will be happy to fix that!
