When I was in France it seemed to be on every channel in some form, and my ex's parent's (who are German) had it on DVD... I'm pretty sure I've never seen it in England I've always wondered how did it become a thing...

it has been sent every year since I can remember and my Parents watched it because it was tradition so I think its going waaaaay back when...
