My Logitech G500 is the best mouse I have ever owned, no contest.
A good gaming mouse from Gigabyte.

I recommend the Sharkoon Fireglider Mouse, it has many advantages like 3 extra custom-buttons, a DPI Switch and this one isn't really expensive, the price is just £23,94

Razer DeathAdder... Nothing beats it, with the exception of the Razer Mamba. :)

Egotomb: Guess it depends how you hold it, I also have one of these and I hate the position of the "slower scroll speed button" because I'm always pressing it. I could disable it if I installed the full driver set but still for ME it's in a dumb place.

In a nutshell if your a gripper you'll be fine with this but if you relax your hand over the mouse you will hate it as I do.
Definitely depends how you hold it. I'm not a 'gripper' (if I understand what you mean there) and tend to use the mouse with a very relaxed hand, but I do know what you mean. When I first got the mouse, I tended to hit that button a lot as well, but now I'm so used to the mouse that it's not a concern any longer. I rarely ever hit it by mistake.

But I find the general feel, comfort, and weight of the MX518, as well as the placement of the 'previous page' and 'next page' buttons are perfect for the way I hold it.

rewsan: Cheers guys, I plumped for the cheap Microsoft Sidewinder option. It's crazy the types of mice out there. If this don't work out i'll pop back to this thread for a slightly more expensive one.

Next up will be a good stick to play all the space sims I've picked up from gog, not sure I'll be able to sneak that past the wife though....
You won't be disappointed ^^ It really is awesome and you can't beat the price. Trust me, I used to have a Razer Diamondback 3G so I don't compliment many mouses easily :D
:(

Be willing to spend £60 and get a roccat kone+

Best mouse ever, Well it does everything that others dont like most razers dont have 5 buttons and feel meh plus when you get a new mouse usualy you need to get used to it, This one i was pwning on BC2 since the first match.

Cheers, I've just had another look on Amazon and it's gone down to £11.99 today, I paid £12.49 yesterday :(......
I recommend the "Logitech Marathon Mouse M705". It has to be the best mouse Ive ever used. The functions are great, for a wireless mouse the battery life is great and gives plenty of warning so it never craps out on you mid-game by surprise, and the shape of it fits PERFECTLY in your hand... it almost feels like its custom molded around your palm and fingers.
From my experience, I've noticed that Microsoft mice tend to offer the best overall value. They are a little more expensive than Logitech, but feel better and last longer. They're less expensive than a RAT, but they don't have feature I don't use.

If you're big into FPSes and you want state-of-the-art, look for the $100 RAT. If you like a good every-day mouse and you have the money, I'd go for a Microsoft mouse.

Right now, I'm using a crappy $10 gaming mouse I got from Amazon and I simply love it. It might not last as long as my MS mouse did (11 years), but it's getting the job done fast and cheap.
