An Indy platformer.

Spelunky, an addictive, highly-polished roguelike platformer full of arcade challenge, high adventure in randomly generated stages, and heaps of ancient treasures gleaming in the dark, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $13.49 for the first week!

EXTRA! Don't miss our Website Spelunking Challenge! Find golden idols on GOG.com and win one of the cute Spelunky Minis!

A hat, a whip, an attitude, and hunger for adventure--that's all it takes to start your amazing journey into the ominous depths of the ancient temple. The legend has it, that the place holds--among its many secrets--the ultimate treasure of a lost civilization. Beware, though: the underground is swarming with strange monsters and it's full of traps that will end your adventure in the goriest, bloodiest possible ways. There's magic in these caverns and walls, though, that twists time and space. You'll be doomed to repeat your attempts at braving the trap-filled rooms again, and again--and each time they will look different. Such is the amazing power of this place. Will you dare to explore it?

Spelunky is a platformer that challenges you to beat a series of proceduraly-generated stages. Easy as it may seem at first, the task proves to be extremely challenging. Every step you take without dying is a success, and the exit seems to elude you in every level. Trying to grab as many riches on the way, rescue a girl or a boy trapped somewhere near, and make it to the end of the stage in a given time takes more than a little practice. With sleek 2D graphics, great gameplay diversity provided by many power-ups and special locations, and difficulty level that gets really extreme at times, this game will keep you entertained for many, many hours.

If you're the type of person who likes to laugh danger in the face, perform daring rescues, explore ancient ruins, and hunt for unimaginable riches, take on the life of a archaeologist/adventurer in Spelunky, for only $13.49! The 10% off discount offer will last until Thursday, August 15, at 9:59AM GMT.

Austrobogulator: Does this include daily challenges?
Afraid not. It does however include both the new and classic soundtracks.

xep624: Turnip Slayerr? What do you have against Turnips? If you are Deamon Cleaner you supposed to be slaying pure evil right? Anyway, congrats on a very quirky name...
Well isn't it obvious that turnips are pure evil then?

EDIT: Also, this is the reason for the Demon Cleaner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaeUak_35VU

KOC: HELP GOG!

What's the max length on user reviews? I tried to post a review that was over 1000 words, but the error message just says "Your review is too long, please make it shorter :)" - that doesn't help much at all!
The limit for user-submitted reviews is 1500 characters. I know it's not much, but it rarely is a problem. You can always post your review here, in the forums in full, and a shorter version there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

On another note: Don't miss our Website Spelunking Contest!

And lastly, to address the matter of our classic releases: The Enigmatic T will be making an announcement soon. He's got some good news :-)

Trilarion: I don't understand why the daily challenge is Steam exclusive. What is the reason? It feels to me like for marketing reasons they sell two different games (versions). What good does it to players in the world?
The Daily Challenge relies on Steamworks, so it cannot be provided in the DRM-free version.

BreOl72: In all honesty: I'm too old for this.
I mean, it looks lovely, and I love(d) 2D JnRs (the old ones)...but viewing the video alone instantly killed me.

I miss the days of my misspent childhood/youth, when JnRs weren't instakills on every second step you did.
Where you saw the entire screen at once and could plan your proceeding.
Where not all around you was spiked, fiery and/or exploding.
Where you didn't have to carry your treasures through the whole level, but got them counted to your score, the second, you walked over them.
Where...

Alas!...To keep an growing rant short: sorry, but no purchase from my side.
Just so you know, you can sell the treasures you have to carry to one of the merchants in a level and believe me, those merchants are almost everywhere :D

Fesin: "Soon" as in "later today" or as in "a couple of weeks"?
