EVEN if you would assume that fire can melt steel. What happened with the rest of the steel structure for WTC 1,2 without any fire....
The only way to manage such collapses of WTC 1,2,7 is using explosives = controlled demolition

Did we forget huge jumbo jet planes crashed into these buildings? I'm sure that was a factor into weakening the structures. Steel doesn't need to melt to get weakened.

Some people hate contingency. The idea that there are things they won't be able to predict and analyze probably scares them. In a grotesque way - you can feel safer in a world with a single evil force, rather than innumerable factors, acts, mistakes and calamities.
If your horizons are narrow and your notions clear-cut enough, you just may be able to categorize the entire world with(in) them...

That sounds more logical than any other explanation I have heard, but I would need to see the evidence for it. I think if it was as simple as that, it wouldn't be such a long-standing problem in the whole tale of 9/11.

Another thing, which is not directed at you but to people in general, is the use of the term conspiracy which I see people using a lot with discussions like this.

Why is saying that this attack was successfully orchestrated by some cave-dweller in Afghanistan because he and his buddies "hate our freedom" any less of a conspiracy theory then saying that the government orchestrated the whole thing itself? My point is that the government is never accused of being a conspiracy theorist, despite the fact that much of what they tell us, whether it's true or not, fits the definition for a conspiracy theory.

1. It's only a long standing problem because some won't let it go, and the gov't won't tell everything they know...even if they're doing it for a good reason.

2. It's a conspiracy theory, if it's a theory and the main jist of it is the gov't/etc conspiring against the people/etc.

No. Stop hand-waving and address the claims YOU raised. We're not going to do YOUR work for you. You make a claim the steel was "cut", "blown up", or otherwise "removed". YOU prove it was so. We'll then argue your math and physics, and mechanics to show YOU that YOU are wrong.

Noone with knowledge of the relevant disciplines has EVER said the fire destroyed the steel. The fire contributed to its failure, but the most damage to it was the aircraft and building rubble (depending upon which building you're focusing on at the time).
So come on : Show us where YOU think the steel "disappeared" and was otherwise tampered with by an "inside job".

And that's your problem, right there. Opinion. NO facts. Nothing behind it but your "wish" it is so.

Honestly, who cares whether 9/11 was some big conspiracy or not? Does it really matter if the douchebags who did it weren't the douchebags we're told did it? Does it matter if there were complicit douchebags we don't know about?

But I'll tell you what does matter, that collectively we all tucked our tails between our legs and transformed into a nation of xenophobic cowards. We cheered as the PATRIOT Act was passed (which ironically got renewed, again this week). We screamed we couldn't go another day without the safety of the TSA. We flew flags to show our solidarity while giving away our most basic freedoms and encouraging each other to "report on" our neighbors. The nation cheered as we marched to war on Iraq. Seriously, wtf?

A very few protested and were squelched as pinko commies and terrorist sympathizers.

I know you were scared for your kids, for your safety. I watched 9/11 on tv with my 3 month old daughter in my arms. So when I tell you FUCK YOU, YOU COWARDS, I have every right. And yes, I am guilty of not protesting loud enough, I didn't lack courage, but I did feel no one was listening.

So that, my fellow GOGers is how the US and that for which it stood crumbled, we finally had to face our fears and we had a collective emotional breakdown. Don't let anyone color it more nicely for you, it's what happened.

The most sad thing about 9/11 is that conspirationists are always in a better position to discuss.
As some people here I have scientific formation, and because of this many people may think I am in a better position to make any statement, this isn't true, having knowledge make you in some way more vulnerable, on the contrary charlatans talk about everything because they don't know the effort necessary to have scientific criteria and speak without hesitation about structures, dynamics, metals, technical specifications of a Boeing 747... Anything, and Internet, that allows many people to hide their identity and to spread this bullshit without fear of losing their personal prestige, only makes things worse.

All this lies can only be countered with science, but science requires that each answer may be given by a specialist in each field of knowledge. National Geographic made some time ago a documentary that did this
