I've never played that much of Torchlight 1. The time I spent with the game was enjoyable but nothing special for me. Is Torchlight 2 different from Torchlight 1 or just the same thing with different classes?
Torchlight 1 was a flawed but good diablo 1 clone.
Torchlight 2 is the best diablolike since diablo 2, it has multiplayer that is awesome, it has some pretty unique classes, and it is amazingly charming. It is an improvement in every way, except that the mod toolkit is not released yet.

Ok, definitely going to buy it then.
It is 25% off until Nov. 27.

That is why I created this thread. :)

Small correction: second best, Titan Quest still holds the crown for this one, if only by a hair. In TL2's favor, they are still adding content. New quests showed up in my last patch.

I don't know what kind of cash reserves you have, but 15 bucks is a no brainer for this one. You have the addition of co-op play and whatever comes out of the fan made stuff when the toolset gets released. As an example, in TL one player found an entire unfinished map and boss and finished it. Another one added a whole new robot class which impressed the hell out of the dev team.

Hell, if you genuinely cannot afford it, let me know and I'll make sure you can.

I have a slight beef with stat allocation for the Outlander class, but it's something I think patching and mods will fix. I also have a slight beef with key binding, this one is less forgiveable, but I guess as it goes it's not the worst thing I've suffered in a game.

Keep in mind it might go cheaper during the sale. Probably not, but if money is tight it may be better to hold off until the last day just in case.

Yeah I am almost certain that it will go cheaper in the steam summer sale. Alternatively, the devs sell it steam-free, i THINK.

My first run was an Outlander, it is by far the most boring class, since then I've had Engineer adn Berzerker runs, which were much more fun, particularly with a increased spawns mod.

It's Steam-free but not DRM-free, unfortunately.

Still, it's a really great game. I really liked how dach of the TL1 classes was essentially split into two halves by theme. You'd think they'd be less versatile and more constrained because of that, but they really aren't. I like it a lot, though to be honest I haven't dumped nearly as many hours into it as I did into TL1. That will probably change once the mod tools are released, though.

Torchlight: Dungeon Crawling Pet Cuddling Cute 'em-up.

Torchlight 2: Fire cannons from the hip and fish with dynamite.

Torchlight 3: Trebuchet orcs into orbit while hunting bunnies with nukes. Watch Orcs burn up on re-entry.

Torchlight 4: Destroy the sun with your fists, hunt Cthulhus with a +3 magic spoon of gruesome prolapses.

Edit: game.plan updated to appease and amuse potential customers and/or victims.

Will throwing a Cthulu out a window actually kill it? I thought they needed something more akin to a forbidden right, or perhaps being forced to watch MPL: Friendship is Magic...
TL2 is way better than TL1. Alot more content, items and most importantly, the combat feels alot better, and the classes are fun.
It is slightly cheaper right now on Gamersgate, more if one had the 15% extra discount that IGN provided once (and remains forever)
