Just once, I wish I was gay so I could do it right back, and turn down a hot woman and tell her that I'd rather be friends. Guess it'll just have to be one of life's disappointments, like how I never meet hot women... :P

Also, in no way is this any slight to gay people. I've never met a gay person that wasn't cool. It's just making fun of stereotypes.

Oh man happened to me some time ago. It wasn't easy and took me a long while to get over it. The worst thing is despite being with other girl now I think I still like her somewhere deep in my heart.

By the way, it's like 3rd thread about relationship problems. What's going on, summer is over...

That's like Bart's summer romance one of the episodes of The Simpsons.

eno_m_koney: Relationships are overrated.

Computer games are awesome.
I've thought that for 30 years now but I'm beginning to feel like trying the alternative

Ralackk: Friendzoned sounded like some new horrible social networking site(fad) that I would have wanted nothing to do with.
Or kind of like a happiness-tease version of the phantom zone

You mean... time for some console games?

I seriously don't know. I never pay too much attention to this kind of threads and this is the very first one I read in full and even replied. i never treat them too seriously. I don't think a forum (any kind, but games related especially) is just not a place for such discussions.
Personally I'd rather talk to a real friend and seek an advice from them than from a bunch of random people. No offense :)

Edit. Just checked your thread and all I can say it... tl;dr.. Sorry ;)

A lot like a relationship: Hogs the telly, locks you in to a single platform, a medium for random childish insults to fly at you when you don't deserve them. (Although console griefers use the word n00b a lot more than women in a relationship)

Oh, and watch out for the Red Ring of Death in both cases. Although antibiotics will clear it up nicely in one of them.

Ahh but there's some psychological value to bearing your all to someone random who can't really hold a grudge.

I had the red ring of death once, I didn't eat chillies for a few weeks afterwards

The "friendzone" is an issue only until you find the right woman . . . once found . . you will be casting the zone spell constantly to protect what you have from chaos and misery . . . =)

Too true.

Is that a ninth level spell? I knew I should have taken 18 int instead of 17... :(

Hehe, I guess level 18 since we've been together for 18 yrs now.

I suffered the same friendzone dread as everyone else, took years and several failed relationships to really understand the benefits gained from being in the "zone" . . . =)

Oh, no! Now I have images of naked men pretending to be cars resurfacing in my head. You get some too

Good for you!

Hummnn, strange image . . . maybe the fever will break soon . . . =)

wodmarach: Ever notice about 40-50% of the time the second you get a new GF the friendzoner starts hitting on you and flirting again?
avatar
AlKim: A potential explanation is that people who are in a relationship generally feel better and more confident than those are not. As a result someone who goes from friendzone depression to relationship happiness can become a lot more attractive to other men/women as well (including but certainly not limited to their ex).
I can add some female perspective to that, if I may.

Some guys who are desperately trying to find a girlfriend act just like that: desperate. A girl wants to feel he's flirting with her because she's special to him.
