This is a question that I find amusing if nothing else. While this website is best known for having some of the greatest games of yore (especially in regards to RPGs and Strategy Games) it also, quite frankly, has its fair share of stuff that no one really needed to remember.

For my money, the singular worst game on GOG is Kingdom: The Far Reaches, a game based on Thayer's Quest (a Dragon's Lair-esque game from the 80s) combining trial and error "gameplay", poor quality animation and some mockery-worthy voice acting. I got it as part of that Interplay "Pay what you want (but if you want the good stuff you'll pay more)" promotion, so as far as I'm concerned I didn't pay money for it.

But I'd like to hear what the rest of you think, and if the rest of you think that the above answer is an easy target, I'll offer an alternate question: What is the worst high-profile game on GOG?

Worst I have played is probably Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods, or whatever that supposed expansion is called. Just brutally broken and not good anyway even if it worked.

For me it would be:

Easy target - Earthworm Jim 3D, I bought it to complete the series but the game is horrible.

High profile - Panzer General 2, Not a bad game really but I got bored with it pretty quickly. I like other War games on here better like Battle Isle.

In my personal opinion: Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. I'm sure someone is going to call bullshit on that, so let me explain - I am far more offended and enraged by squandered potential than by mere ineptitude. There may be games on GOG that are buggy, have bad AI, or are betrayals of earlier games in their franchise. But I'll wager there's no other game on GOG that spends some much effort building up something intriguing and original, and then completely shits the bed in so spectacular a fashion. Were it merely bad, I wouldn't care. I despise it precisely because it could have been so much more.

Inquisitor hands down for me.

Gothic 2 has to be the worst one I have. It was barely playable before (because of the unforgivably awful controls), but last I tried it it doesn't even work at all now. Can't get much worse than nothing at all.

Assassin's Creed. A game about holding down a button to see the game play itself.

IMO Ultima 9. You buy that game to see how badly they ruined that series. If the crashes don't get you, the sure stupidity of the writing will. Case in point: "What's a Paladin?" quote the newly dumbfounded Avater.

The worst rated is Omerta and its DLCs.

The worst selling that wasnt free is Ultimate Body Blows (right after the Omerta DLCs :D)

Looking at the last 10 of the two, the combination of worst rated and worst selling would be Slender: The Arrival.

Master of Orion 3. Awful then, awful now.

I guess I am in the minority here, I liked it. For me it was the most immersive Ultima to date. I know a lot of hard-core Ultima fans felt betrayed by the story, but personally it really didn't bother me at all. I only played U3 and about half of Ultima 4.

I'd test it out now then. Because I can't get it to work at all anymore (Nvidia card). All I get is blackness.
