So the grid shadows made me mad, and i tried a ton of stuff to fix it: wrappers, shader injection, graphic overlays
and after sometime i got fedup and did a diff/merge of my files and noticed when you select ULTRA (or any preset in the config) the sliders all move where they should but never edit the user.ini.

the tool is set to ultra but my User.ini has the "low" presets for many options. i specifically highlighted shadows.
the fix is to set the preset and leave it alone.... then edit the user.ini and have it match the proper presets in the profile ini. These guys are in your documents folder for the witcher 2
So far so good shadows and the game look much better, happy slaying!
[edit]: i get the custom flag needs set for the overide to happen but its not working on "all" settings and this seems to work... at least my shadows are prettier so im happy :)
