Hello people, I had a crash on my pc and had to reinstall my OS on one drive. I lost my saved games through this process but GOG still has it on record that I have a number of achievements and have played 33 hours of the witcher 3. Is there any hope I can get my stuff back? Or is there any alternative (like some sort of fasttrack)?
If they are not in Documents/The Witcher 3/gamesaves then yes, they are gone forever, unless you had a backup. You could try to ask for a savegame at the point you were and add it to that directory, though. I have played almost 100 hours so I'm far from the point you were, but maybe someone else is closer ;)
I have a ton of saves from early on till now. I'm sure someone has a fairly early game save. What are your quest requirements for a save?
The problem is that TW3 saves, and the saves of most of other games, are located in the documents folder, which is always erased when Windows is reinstalled. If we could select our own save folder, preferably on a disk other than that which holds the OS, it would make things much more practical.

Next time you should really make regular backups, either on a flash drive or some file hosting server. It only takes several seconds after each session.
Well I could share my saves if you wish. Straight out of White Orchard and just before Baron and Keira.
