The game was not well received on Steam. It seems rightfully so - microtransactions, bad optimization.

Probably will never happen, considering that Capcom is selling this one for 70 USD and with Denuvo. Pretty much every RE Engine game is getting this treatment lately. MH Rise is still using Denuvo. Maybe they might after they finish releasing expansions, but I doubt they want to drop the entire game DRM free here with a the massive amount of profitable cosmetics they can sell elsewhere. I feel like Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an anomaly in that regard.

I would love to be proven wrong, though.

I dont think the Dev will care regaining some "proper attitude", because those with to less mass, thus coins, are no value and according to their mind... do not own any real value. Not a nice reality but this is how stuff currrently works...

The first game had really bad start on GOG. The network featurte is borderline dysfunctional and the publisher withdrawn the tech support within few months.
The only way to fix this affront is through a proper release of the sequel on GOG.
