I had just finished playing all the Warcraft 3 campaigns and was looking for more Strategy goodness.
I then found this high-fantasy game that had everything I was looking for. The story was great but as a child I found it a very difficult game. I would love to take another shot at beating it!
The period after Warcraft III when many publishers tried to replicate the RTS + RPG formula had some real gems. Unfortunately, this was right before the death of PC gaming in retail, and the long period of "store wars" in early digital distribution.
Armies of Exigo is one of the casualties of the time, forgotten by everyone. It's time to bring it back, EA.
My memories of this game arent particularly detailed, the main and biggest one is that after a certian point the game just got too difficult, until years later i tried the game again, got my ass handed to me and just decided to cheat my way through the game wholesale haha
I remember finding this game in my local library (a place i use to go to a lot to rent comics and games when i was in my teens) I was really surprised how good and cool this game was and the story was quit something else. In my 20ties i bought the game on amazon from a random person and i still own my copy today with many other old school games bought the same way (I'm 35 now) Would be great to get this game on GoG as it seems to be forgotten by time and many ppl don't know it even exist.
This game is a pure gem. Sadly WarCraft 3 overshadowed it, but this game deserved it's beautiful story's continuetion. The scale of battles are very intense, fought in the air, on the ground and undergroundbat the same time with the classic RTS style. Three totally different factions, map-wide effect spells, beautiful graphics. It's cinematics were second of it's time, bested only by WarCraft 3 itself.
I once had the discs for this game, sadly lost disc 2.
It would be amazing to replay this game, before I was a kid who bought it cause it looked cool and I'd love to actually play the game and not just stay in skirmish games.
I also love the art style and factions you get to play.
Armies of Exigo is criminally underrated . I absolutly love this Game. Its an RTS just like Warcraft or Starcraft. Its not as good as Warcraft 3 but its pretty close. For me its a 5/5 Star Game. I still have this Game on CD as i keep all my Games i bought . But as widely known the Backwards Compatibility on Windows 11 is crap , you then need to Dowload a no CD file which im verry reluctantly do .
But even with that done you still have some Compatibility Proplems.

SirenThe story revolves around an interconnected cast of characters that possess a power which enables them to see and hear what a nearby character sees. The game was followed by a PlayStation 2 sequel, a reimagining for the PlayStation 3 and a film adaption.
Siren is divided into stages, each taking place in one of ten areas in the village of Hanuda, and organized chronologically in a table called the "Link Navigator". In order to complete a stage, the player must accomplish a primary objective that usually involves reaching an exit point, subduing undead enemies called "Shibito", or finding an item. Objectives in different stages are interconnected via a butterfly effect, and a character's actions in one stage can trigger a secondary objective in another stage.
There are miscellaneous items scattered throughout each stage that give the player further insight into the plot's background. Once obtained, these items are archived in a catalog and can be viewed at any time during the game's duration. The game's player characters possess a psychic power named "sightjack," which enables them to see and hear what a nearby Shibito or human sees and hears, and thus pinpoint its position, as well as gain knowledge of their activities and of the position of obtainable items. The clarity of each target depends on the distance from the player character. Once a point of view is located, it can be assigned to one of certain buttons of the controller to easily switch between multiple points of view. However, the player character is unable to move during use of the ability and is thus vulnerable to attack.
The game encourages the player to avoid Shibito rather than fight them. Characters can walk silently, avoid the use of a flashlight, and crouch behind objects to elude detection. Certain mission objectives require the player character to use items and/or the environment to distract Shibito from their activity, in order for them to achieve a goal. Others require the player to escort a non-player character. Player characters can also shout at any time in order to get the attention of nearby Shibito. Within most stages, the player character can hide in certain places such as cupboards and lock doors to prevent Shibito from entering. When a Shibito hears a sound made by the player character, it will search in the direction from which they heard the sound. If a character is seen by a Shibito, the latter will pursue the character to kill them either with a melee or ranged weapon or by strangulation. The Shibito will also shout to alert other nearby Shibito. Once the character has remained out of the Shibito's sight for a period of time, the Shibito will give up and resume its usual habits. Weapons are available for the player throughout the game, ranging from melee weapons to firearms. While Shibito can be knocked out in combat, they cannot be killed and will reanimate after a short period of time. If a character is injured, they can recover after some time has passed.
