In a World where 3D platformers are few and far between, in an era where people were imprisoned in their homes for months or years on end, Balan Wonderworld brought much-needed smiles and hope to those who played. Made by the creators of Sonic The Hedgehog, and displaying inspirations proudly, this game would almost singlehandedly pull me out of my PTSD episodes in what was otherwise a dark chapter in my life. The bright, colourful graphics are extremely pleasing to look at, the classic theatre theme, setting and vibe are cozy, the frantic and chaotic energy mingles well with the more soft and heartfelt moments, the gameplay is simple enough to pick up and play but with a clever hook that'll keep you interested the more you play, the game rewards you for thinking outside the box with regards to overcoming given obstacles, and the little things it reminds me of (the Tims acting like Chao from Sonic Adventure and looking like Totoro Peeps, Balans personality reminding me a lot of Robin Williams' Genie from Aladdin, just to name a few) do a great job of taking me back to my childhood, where 3D platformers like Super Mario 64, Banjo and Sonic Adventure ruled the scene. It's very old-school-feeling--sometimes that may feel uncharacteristically obtuse, but oftentimes it's in the best ways. I love Good Old Games, and want to move on from other platforms now, and just be able to play the games I buy without worrying about the servers hosting the DRM going boink. Square Enix, please. Enough time has passed--there's no good reason to keep avoiding this storefront, especially for games like this you don't seem interested in continuing. The fanbase for this game may be small, but we're also dedicated--if you give us another avenue to support the friendly maestro, we'll be there for him, as he was there for us.

American McGee's Alice
American McGee's AliceShortly after her second adventure, Through the Looking-Glass, Alice's house is burnt down by an accidental fire, killing her family and leaving her as the only survivor. As time progresses Alice loses touch with reality. She is institutionalized in Rutledge Asylum, where she is observed and treated by Dr. Heironymous Wilson. Alice's only possession in Rutledge is a stuffed rabbit. Ten years after Alice was committed to Rutledge, she finds herself sucked back into a Wonderland that has been twisted by her own broken mind. The White Rabbit summons Alice to aid a radically altered Wonderland, which became a twisted version of itself as it came under the horrible rule of the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat serves as Alice's companion throughout the game, frequently appearing to guide her with cryptic comments.

Rayman 3 HD
Rayman 3 HDRayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is the third major game in the Rayman series, and the sequel to Rayman 2. Rayman 3 was released in 2003. Like its immediate predecessor, it is a 3D platformer. However, Rayman 3's levels are more straightfoward and oriented towards action and combat rather than platforming and exploration. The main campaign of Rayman 3 is temporally linear – unlike the previous games, where Rayman could physically return to completed locations, each Rayman 3 level is visited only once within the storyline. The overall reception of the game was poorer than that of Rayman 2. It is notable for being the first Rayman game not directed by series creator Michel Ancel, who was occupied with the development of Beyond Good & Evil at the time. Ancel played a small role in the development of Rayman 3, assisting the team in various areas (such as Rayman's new look) and meeting with them to brainstorm ideas for characters and environments. Rayman 3 features a points-based scoring system; another first for the series. Players could post their final scores on the then-new RaymanZone website. However, this function was disabled when RaymanZone was retooled to suit the Raving Rabbids games. In February 2009, members of the Rayman Pirate-Community contacted Ubisoft and successfully arranged for the creation of a new Hall of Fame.[1] In July 2011, the PC version of the game joined Rayman Forever and Rayman 2 on the digital distribution network Good Old Games. In March 2012, a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version titled Rayman 3 HD was released, with improved textures, framerate, lighting and audio quality.
