by Westwood Studios, Electronic Arts
Genres:Strategy, Shooter
Themes:Action, Fantasy, Historical, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Renegade's story takes place during the final days of the First Tiberium War originally depicted in Command & Conquer. GDI's top three Tiberium research specialists have been abducted by the Brotherhood of Nod. The player assumes the role of GDI commando Captain Nick "Havoc" Parker, who is assigned to rescue these experts. He conducts missions which take him all over the world in various countries and climates, both indoor and outdoor, and his actions greatly affect the current state of the war. As the game progresses it is revealed that the specialists have been forced into biochemistry research for the Brotherhood's top secret "Project Re-Genesis," An attempt to create genetically enhanced super-soldiers with the aid of Tiberium. As the player plays through a mission, the in-game EVA, or Electronic Video Assistance, periodically updates with mission objectives. EVA logs and updates all objectives and their current status. Objectives are categorized into three categories: primary, secondary and tertiary. The completion of primary objectives are crucial for that mission's success. Secondary objectives are not required for mission completion, but may assist in game play. Tertiary missions, which are usually hidden, do not assist much in game play, but will affect your final "rank" at the end of each mission.Show more

Was a pretty fun game with lots of vehicles, weapons, and really good multi-player (I did not have internet so I played the multi-player demo level over and over again) Its multi-player will surely will still be a blast to play even now as its sort of very Battlefield style with large levels with multiple classes and vehicles to choose from only this time with a bit of base building and maintaining involved.
I was 11 when this game came out and I was obsessed with it. I had never played any of the C&C RTS titles so I felt 'cool' for playing the FPS spinoff. the "pre-rendered in-engine" cutscenes looked a lot better in memory, lol... I played the MP demo with the bots to an almost unfathomable degree. Upon installing the game I found out I could pause the installation and I got a list of all the MP maps and thought "jackpot!". But loading them by console commands only put me in the maps but there were no path meshes for AI to follow so I was all alone. So close, yet so far : ( Anyway, would love for this game to get the good old treatment!
