Amazingly in-depth in a timeless manner, Descent: Freespace has been a regularly played game in my collection since 1999. This game, its sequel Freespace 2, and the Open Source Project led me to a career in the tech industry, and left me with a lifelong love for space and gaming!
First true game I ever played. Glorious combat, fantastic story and huge capital ships.
This should land in Preservation Program since original studio is dead. No hope for remakes or remasters or any kind of closure. This should be kept alive.
Even today there does not exist any game(except for Freespace 2) which gives you this feeling of dogfights between gigantic battleships hurling thousands of rockets, lasers and beams at eachother
This is one good space sim, story is great and the action is fast paced and great, and with the Open Freespace Project, it got better, and of course, there are mods with side story around it's worlds

Grand Prix 2All the circuits and drivers of the 1994 Formula 1 World Championship is recreated in Geoff Crammond's second racing simulation. The game is viewed from within the cockpit - external views are provided primarily for use in replays or demonstrations. The game has 5 skill levels, 7 driving aids such as automatic brakes and a dotted 'ideal racing line' to follow available on lower skill levels, and variable race and practice session lengths. You will have to alter the car's setup to get the best possible car performance - this ranges from standard features such as brake balance and gear ratios onto more technical ones such as spring settings and the ride height. Hot WheelsHot Wheels is a licensed title based on the toy cars from Mattel and attempts to recreate the playing of toy cars. You start in a car showroom with different types of model cars but if they aren't to your taste then you can design and build your own. Once you are happy with your new car it's time to go to the Paint Shop and select a colour before driving out of the showroom and driving it through town.
You view your car from the side at a slight elevated angle and you can drive it to the right or left along the road. To change direction you have to pull into a opening and reverse out in the new direction. The town itself is split into two parts and they are connected by an Expressway where you watch a small animated piece of your car driving along the road. Each part of town is made up of various buildings and some buildings can be drove into to either keep your car running smoothly or participate in various mini games. The buildings you encounter are:
Car Wash: You just watch your car going through the various stages of a car wash.
Gas Station: You control the mechanic and you can fill the car up with gas and check the tyre pressures.
Tuning: Here you watch your car having the engine tuned.
Oil Change: You control another mechanic and once you raised the car you must move a drum below the car and try to catch all the drops of oil dripping from the car without making a mess. Once the engine is empty you can fill the car with oil.
Demolition Derby: You view a square track from above with the whole track on screen as you drive around the track. You attempt to smash the other cars to destroy them while avoiding being smashed yourself.
Firefighting. Pulling into the fire station allows you to drive a fire engine along the road looking for any buildings on fire. Once you find a burning building you must park beside a fire hydrant. When you are in the correct position a hose appears. You move the hose around and attempt to put out the fire. Take too long and the building will burn down.Kids
Colin McRae Rally 04There are 4 classes of cars: 4WD, 2WD, Group B and Bonus. The bonus class are cars that are not usually raced in rallies.
This fourth incarnation of the Colin McRae Rally series, unlike in the previous three games, has no official WRC team license. All of the cars' liveries are either fictitious or taken from championships other than the WRC.

It's not just a tag line, it's also the instructions! Yes, you've been recruited to help the Star League destroy Xur and his forces once and for all. To accomplish this, you'll have to travel to the Procyon system and destroy the Ko-Dan in their own galaxy. However, while you're off playing cowboy in a distant galaxy, the Ko-Dan armada are planning their own attack on your home system of Celos IV. So not only must you defeat the whole Ko-Dan empire single handed, you must also defend your galaxy at the same time. Accomplishing both tasks at once is all about strategy, sharp shooting, and a little luck.
The Last Starfighter is based on the 80s movie. Unfortunately despite being finished it wasn't released for the Atari 5200. However it does exist in prototype form and was eventually officially released for the Atari XE/XL as Star Raiders II with some minor changes. Also an arcade version was supposed to be released but was canned as well. On top of all that this game wasn't even originally The Last Starfighter and instead was originally called Orbiter that was retooled. Quite a history for a prototype!
