One of the great games belonging to the golden era of Blizzard. I played D2 so much when I was young! It's less scary and atmospheric than D1, but it's more polished, complex and also good for MP. The item hunting is quite addicting in this. There are a few flaws tho: - you have to carefully plan your character in advance, if you want to win difficulties above normal. A respec option was added quite late, but it's very limited. Classes and skills aren't super balanced. - it's way too grindy after level 70-80 and there isn't much new content at that point, except for super rare drops. - the stash is too small for even average collectors.. you'll need external mods for it

For me, this is THE Diablo game. I played alongside my brother and friends; I was a paladin, and he was a necromancer—he had so many summons he barely noticed when they killed Diablo. Meanwhile, I struggled with my paladin. Good times!
This is THE video game to me. There has never been a game that has matched the magic of Diablo 2 and I don't think its crazy to say we've seen its legacy slowly suffuse the entire industry. Every other genre of games now bears some lineage to the systems of Diablo 2.

Fond memories playing it together with my brother in LAN. I'd really wish it would be available here, so everyone can venture together in Diablo 2 and experience the story.

I've played this game for hundreds of hours. The atmosphere is great and the hunt for loot is engaging. Many games have tried to improve the formula, but few succeeded, and this game still holds up in comparison. The base game was already good, but the expansion contained many great additions and is required to experience this game in its best form.

I would be lying if I said I spent a healthy amount of time on this game. From my childhood years and now well into my adulthood - the adventures in Diablo II somehow never got old. The addictive gameplay loop, the itemization that leaves you craving for more for years to come (it's honestly near impossible to collect every item in the game - some drops are just THAT rare!), the tight gameplay for a game of this age - it's the best in its class by far. I've tried other games in the genre, but none seem to have the same spark as Diablo II for me. That being said - the Diablo II Resurrected remaster is a godsend for those those value their eyes. The original game is stuck with a 25 FPS framerate cap and it can be hard to play like that, especially coming from various 3D games with smooth motion, BUT...the original still kicks butt and mods like PlugY (infinite stash space + other QoL improvements) can make this one a worthwhile play for sure, especially when paired with graphical adjustments that try to remedy the framerate problems (various frame interpolation tricks used to make the motion fluid). Despite its age - it's a 10/10 game for me, honestly. Loved it as a kid - still love it now. It was peak Blizzard storytelling back in those days :)

I didn't play it initially because I was put off by the cover ;) However, when I finally did it a couple years after the release I was hooked and the boss fights really made me sweat at times. However, this is not why I remember the game and it's not the setting or gameplay. For me it's the music. I love the soundtrack so much I still listen to it today, and sometimes I mute the music from the game I'm playing and put on the Diablo II OST instead!

Holy F- Yes! , the original D2 with LOD needs to be here, easily one of the games of the golden era of Blizzard and is still a great Looter A-RPG that holds up pretty well. Blizzard doesnt make it easy to preserve the original version of those games, but one could dream.

Diablo was a revelation for me. One of the first games I ever played over the Internet. Diablo II was even better. It fixed some of the issues I had with the first and had a more immersive story. Diablo II is the peak of the Diablo Franchise in my mind. Diablo 3 and 4 are still fun, but I feel like 2 was the best.

Target: Renegade
Target: RenegadeTarget: Renegade is a scrolling beat'em up (or flip-screen on certain versions) computer game released on the Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum systems in the late 1980s by Ocean Software on their "Imagine" label, as well as a Nintendo Entertainment System version published by Taito. The game is a sequel to Renegade and was followed by Renegade 3. When acquiring the license to convert the original arcade game Renegade to home computers, Ocean acquired the option to produce and release their own home-computer-only sequels to the game, and Target Renegade was the first of these sequels. On most formats, the game caters for one or two players and concerns itself with the adventures of a streetfighter (or a pair of identical streetfighters) known only as "Renegade", who seek(s) revenge against a local crime kingpin named "Mr. Big" for murdering his or their brother Matt. The player character varies, depending on the format, but is usually represented as topless apart from a leather vest and wearing jeans. Regardless of the format, the cover of the game and the title screen (as seen on the image to the right) portrays a topless street fighter performing a flying kick through a window. In keeping with video game box art and advertising of the era, the character shown in this illustration bears little relation to any character in the game itself. The actual picture is based on Martial Arts Legend Joe Lewis from the cover of his book The World's Greatest Fighter Teaches You How To Master Bruce Lee's Fighting System, but has been adjusted so as to fit in with the character of Renegade. The game comprises five levels, though details of enemies and weapons vary from one version to another (the NES version in particular is more like Double Dragon than the home computer versions). The NES and C64 versions of the game do not have a two-player co-operative mode.
