Story:Final Fantasy, also known as Final Fantasy I in re-releases, is a role-playing game developed and published by Square Co., Ltd. for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan in December 1987, and the first title in Square's flagship Final Fantasy series. The game was later released in North America in 1990, and has since been re-released worldwide on the PlayStation, the Game Boy Advance, the PlayStation Portable, iOS, Android, and many other platforms, with re-releases making modifications and adding new content. Panorama TohPanorama Toh (ぱのらま島 "Panorama Island"), released by Nihon Falcom for the NEC PC-8801 computer in 1983, departed from the standard RPG formula in various ways. It combined RPG gameplay with real-time combat, combined fantasy with sci-fi elements, and introduced survival mechanics.
The game was designed by Yoshio Kiya, this was possibly the first action RPG. These innovative ideas about RPG design departed significantly from the turn-based norm at the time. It introduced real-time combat, sci-fi elements, a persistent open world with day-night cycle, and survival mechanics. This was a precursor to Falcom's seminal action RPG franchise, Dragon Slayer. Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of the TimeGrowlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time is a mix between a real-time and turn-based strategy RPG that was released on the PlayStation 2 in Japan on December 18, 2003. The title was the fourth entry in the Growlanser series and was the last entry to use 2D sprites before transitioning to 3D with the next installment. An enhanced port for the PlayStation Portable was released in Japan on August 18, 2011 under the title Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded, which featured a new animated opening as well as several new story paths, characters and other gameplay improvements. Atlus USA localized the PSP port as Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time and released it in North America on July 31, 2012.
