Final Fantasy VI

Final Fantasy VI (1994)

by Square, Square Enix
Genres:Role-playing (RPG), Adventure
Themes:Open world, Fantasy, Sandbox
Game modes:Single player
Story:Final Fantasy VI is the sixth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed and published by Square. It was the final title in the series to feature two-dimensional graphics, and the first story that did not revolve around crystals. The game gives players up to fourteen playable characters, the largest cast in the series, and features the Active Time Battle pseudo-turn based menu command system. A party can consist of up to four characters, though some events require the player to assemble three different parties of up to four and switch between them. Each character has a unique command ability, such as Terra's Trance, Locke's Steal, Edgar's Tools or Sabin's Blitz, and can also learn Magic spells from earning AP from battles with magicite equipped. Each character's rare Desperation Attack will randomly activate after using the Attack command when at critical health.Show more

This masterpiece deserves to be part of the gog preservation program, but the ORIGINAL version. If gog does include the remaster, make it optional, and give people the choice as to which version they buy. The remaster changed so many things it could not rightly be called the same game.

As far as I'm concerned this is the best video game ever made. I've played this game through I don't know how many times since I first played it on Christmas in 1994. I still prefer the Super Nintendo English release above every other version and that's the version I want on here.
I played Final Fantasy VI on the Wii and iPhone when I was younger. I never beat it but I loved the experience nonetheless. Recently, I saw this amazing graphic mod called Brave Steel. It turns out it was for the old steam/mobile version of FF VI which turned out to be the very one I played on my iPhone. I tried to buy this version of the game but I saw that it was delisted for the upcoming pixel remaster. I tried to see if there were any other alternatives to buy this version but it turned out piracy was the only choice and I wasn't willing to risk my ROG Ally and or my Steam account being compromised for one game. I understand why Square Enix took this version of the game off digital marketplaces but I feel that this old version of the game should be preserved to respect the wonderful legacy that Final Fantasy VI has.
best final Fantasy game ever because of it music gameplay story characters and the 2016 original pc port on gog preservation program i want og version from 2016 not the pixel remaster of it even those it is a good Remaster and ff 6 drm free sounds good to me

I first played this on the Super Nintendo. I have a many great memories of sitting in front of the TV with my brother as we took turns playing the game. To this day it is still my favorite of the Final Fantasy games. I don't the series has ever hit the scope, depth of character, or emotional highs and lows that this one did. This is easily one of the best games ever made.

Policenauts
PolicenautsPolicenauts is an interactive movie/graphic novel/adventure game with a hard science fiction storyline, written and directed by Hideo Kojima, and published by Konami. It was initially released for the PC-9821 computer platform in 1994, followed by remade versions for the 3DO in 1995, and the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1996. The game has never been officially released outside Japan, despite plans for an English localization of the Saturn version. On August 24, 2009 (in honor of the 46th birthday of the game designer, Hideo Kojima), an unofficial English translation patch was released onto the internet. The game is set in a primarily first person perspective and uses a point-and-click interface: the player can move the cursor and have the protagonist (Jonathan Ingram) analyze objects around his environment or talk to other characters in the game. Like in Snatcher, the game features shooting segments where the player must defend their character from incoming enemies. The player can use the shooting trainer at the police department to test their reflex and accuracy. There are numerous puzzles in the game, including an event where the player must dismantle a bomb by following their partner's instructions. The console versions of the game all include support for their respective mouse peripherals. The Saturn version features light gun support for the shooting segments. The game was notable for being an early example of extensive voice recording in video games. It also featured a theme revolving around space exploration and occasional full-motion video cut scenes. The gameplay was largely similar to Snatcher, but with the addition of a point-and-click interface and some first-person shooter segments. Policenauts also introduced summary screens, which act to refresh the player's memory of the plot upon reloading a save, an element Kojima would later use in Metal Gear Solid. The PlayStation version of Policenauts could also read the memory card and give some easter egg dialogues if a save file of Konami's dating sim Tokimeki Memorial is present, a technique Kojima would also later use in Metal Gear Solid.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake CollectionUncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a remastered compilation of the action-adventure shooter platform video games Drake's Fortune, Among Thieves, and Drake's Deception. Ported by Bluepoint Games, the collection was released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on October 7, 2015 in Europe and October 9th, 2015 in North America. The Nathan Drake Collection features the original three games in the Uncharted series with 1080p resolution, 60 frames per second, better lighting, textures and models. The collection also implements a "Photo Mode", a mode where the player can freeze the game at any moment to take personalized screenshots, derived from Naughty Dog's other remastered entry, The Last of Us Remastered, as well as new trophies. The ported games only include their respective single-player modes. The pre-ordered version of The Nathan Drake Collection includes the "Nathan Drake Pack", which consists of single-player skins of iconic Nathan Drake outfits, as well as two weapons: the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS - 9mm. Pre-ordering the collection as a digital download through the PlayStation Store would also give an exclusive Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PlayStation 4 dynamic theme. Purchasing The Nathan Drake Collection, and owning a valid subscription to PlayStation Plus, before the expiry date of December 13, 2015 would grant the player exclusive access to the multiplayer beta of A Thief's End.
