When I picked up this game on a whim I had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be an incredibly difficult puzzle game with a strange bit of charm. While I never completed it, the CD still sits on my shelf (sadly, it does not play on modern computers.) One distinct memory... I learned the word "Quern" from this game.
My mom pulled this out of a bargain bin back in 2000, some of the puzzles didn't really make sense to me but I managed to finish the game. The ending was my first real "what the hell was that all about?" ending but it was definitely memorable.

My very first puzzle game on PC. A game that resisted me for many years, because at the time, I did not have access to the Internet, and no solution was available. This game with its captivating atmosphere has known 3 computers at home, because I installed it on each new PC to try to advance: it was 8 years after discovering it that I was finally able to reach the end by solving the last puzzle. I have an attachment to these moments of reflection, the music, the voice "There is nothing more that you can do" which still resonates in my head. At the time, the game was in French, and I hope that you can add it with French. A sequel (very originally called Jewels Of The Oracle 2) only exists in VO, enough to prolong the pleasure of the game if you also offer it. While most games feature combat, stressful moments and other opportunities to destroy virtual things, such rare puzzle games are real jewels that deserve to be preserved.
This really is one of those hidden gems (Pun intended) Sure it's a collection of unrelated logic puzzles loosely woven around a theme but each of them just breaths so much atmosphere that makes this a rare treasure.

Romancia: Dragon Slayer Jr.
Romancia: Dragon Slayer Jr.This game exists in two editions, one for the MSX1 and one for the MSX2 with better graphics. In Romancia: Dragon Slayer Jr., you are a young warrior whom the king sends on a mission to rescue a lost princess. You must leave the town and enter the dreadful monster-infested catacombs in order to complete your quest. The game is a departure from Dragon Slayer RPG-oriented gameplay style. It tends more towards medieval-themed platformer action. The hero has hit points, can buy items and weapons, use magic, and stay in inns to recover health. However, instead of receiving experience points and becoming stronger, you simply must attack quicker (by bumping into your opponent on platform levels) and jump higher.

Shining Force
Shining ForceShining Force is a turn-based tactical RPG. Battles take place in square grids, and each unit occupies 1 square. Units can belong to one of two sides: allies (controlled by the player) or enemies (controlled by the computer AI). Each unit can move up to a fixed amount of squares along the battlefield, determined by its Move statistic. Depending on its location relative to enemies and to allies, a unit also has the option to attack, cast a spell, use an item, search (if adjacent to a treasure chest), or stay and do nothing, all of which end the unit's turn. Some commands, such as equipping or dropping items, don't count as actions, and the character's turn is able to continue. The order of the turns is determined by the unit's agility score and a random seed. Units can use offensive actions, such as physical attacks or offensive magic, only on units belonging to the other side and can use supportive actions, such as healing magic, stat-enhancing magic, and items, only on units belonging to the same side.
