I remember playing this in early 2000s. It was a bit clunky like many PC games back then, but it felt unique. I was a kid back then so I always found a favourite unit to play with and make them the champion of sorts. In this particular game it was the axeman (or based on what I remember at least), and always made them the leader of my battles, bringing it's own challenges. It's sad now that this game is so hard to find and get, but what's even worse is it doesn't run on modern systems at all. I pray to GOGods that this game earns it's place on this great platform. Good game with a big replay ability factor. I still own the original disc and it was a fun and obscure game as a kid. I feel that this kind of game would have a public today, looking for more hisotrical turn-based strategy games. The multiplayer had 3 different modes, which was pretty good

Similar to games such as They Are Billions, the enemy hordes will keep coming at you and how long you can resist the invasion depends entirely on your ability to build your stronghold and lead your army. Gameplay is real-time, but you can also pause at any time to issue commands and start construction of new buildings. Battles will be bloody and savage with players having to deal with anything from fires raging through their stronghold to piles of corpses spreading death and disease.
