Sun-Tzu's advice remains as pertinent in 2183 as it is today – know your enemy. The perfect beginning of the Mass Effect series and my favourite game from this legendary action RPG franchise. Amazing cinematic story-telling that stands well on its own and as a prologue to a wider story. A perfect blend of RPG mechanics and third person shooting. Lots of choices and consequences that can be imported into the sequels. While the same import feature is not unique, nobody pulled it off as well as the mass Effect trilogy did! PS. Mako is the best vehicle. I don't care what anyone else says. I've had tons of fun goofing around with it!

I don't even know where to start with Mass Effect. It is my all time favourite game. Even now I can slip back into it like my favourite pair of jeans. I've played through form start to finish over 30 times (not one of them with a renegade spin) but the best moment - no matter how many times I've done it - is letting the fifth fleet through the relay to save the council. The gravitas of that moment is just something else.
For those that forget and those that never experienced it, what an incredible feeling to boot up and begin playing this game. You totally believed you had stepped into this huge new universe. It felt so large in its scale and ambition. Sure, by today's standards, many of the games locations, mechanics or interactions will seem dated or quaint but it is certainly one of my all time top gaming memories when you first see and board the Normandy. The music that plays in the citadel is also burned into my brain.

The Mass Effect Series (1,2 and 3 not legendary) is the best space game series ever created in my opinion. I loved these games and still play them every few years. Get the whole collection with ALL the DLC's and I will buy them!

I liked the weapon-cooldown combat system a lot more than the ammo-based one in the sequels. Being an ammo hoarder I avoided any shooting builds in all sequels (Andromeda too) Just loved the whole trilogy, how choices from each part influence the story and characters' developments in later parts. I made three or four separate playthroughs of the whole trilogy for every romance combination I liked. The game mechanic bonuses from playing through with different classes made replays more fun. Luckily some people uploaded all the elevator and vehicle talk combinations to youtube =)

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Fable: The Lost ChaptersFable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.

Fable
FableThe adventure in which you are about to embark tells the story of how once upon a time a young boy named Quickthorpe set out a journey through the lost world of Balkhane. It is a Fable in one way, but in the 'trick of the tale', it's a strange adventure through a shattered world and a saga born out of the very sick mind of a man called Ismael. Long ago in the mists of time lived the Mecubarz. Ancient and beautiful, powerful and wise they ruled absolute. Strange beings, magical creatures and humans lived together in peace and harmony, until greed destroyed it all. Ismael, a respected man, and revered by all, sadly had a heart that was hollow and bitter. He and four others plotted to overthrow the Mecubarz. The Mecubarz' fury at the treason of Ismael and his men was cataclysmic. They trapped the four seasons and put them into impenetrable crystals, casting them to the four corners of the shattered world where they stood still and were held in an eternal dominion of ice, mist, water, and fire. The four traitors were exiled, but Ismael disappeared. As Quickthorpe, an inexperienced adventurer, your quest is to explore the Four Lands of the Mecubarz in search of the mystical gems that will liberate your people. Keen observation, puzzle-solving skill and quick thinking are the abilities required to undertake this exciting but unpredictable task. Interact with a universe of characters which come to life with true speech creating a world with an atmosphere so thick you can feel it. Combined stunning animations and atmospheric sound effects will ensure that Fable will take you on the journey of a lifetime! But beware... in the world of Fable not everything is as it seems.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
