Need for Speed: Underground 2 (2004)

by EA Black Box, Electronic Arts
Genres:Racing
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer, Split screen
Story:Need For Speed Underground 2 takes place in Bayview after the events of Need for Speed: Underground. The prologue begins with the player driving in a Nissan Skyline R34 in Olympic City (though the racing scenes are actually in Bayview), the setting of NFS:UG. He then receives a race challenge from a rather ominous personality who offers him a spot on his crew, but "won't take 'no' for an answer." The player races off — despite Samantha's warnings — only to be ambushed by a mysterious driver in a rage that totals his Skyline. The driver, who has a unique scythe tattoo, makes a call confirming the accident, and the flashback fades out.Show more

Oh NFSU2 my beloved... I had finished this game multiple times over the years (including on my Steam Deck - so I know it works flawlessly on Linux too!). It must be NFSU and NFSU2 that instilled in me the love of ricer cars and funky neon tubes under them - I still think they are cool! I know that many (if not most) people praise NFS MW as the best in the series, but for me - NFSU/U2 will always be the ones, especially NFSU2. Everything felt just right - the controls, the customization, the map, the visuals... The style of cinematics was, perhaps, a bit wacky and cringey at times ("yo dog!" lol), but overall still one of my all-time favourite racing games! Because it's a licensed game and the licenses for music, cars and car parts must have long-expired - I have no doubt this one will never see the light of day (at least in its former glory) again, but the hope will live on that SOME DAY something might happen and this game gets a proper revilval it so deserves.
Ayo, Jim, man, why don't ya... Why don't you kick some of that, you know? You-You know how you do it, man It's a trip, people don't even believe we're together right now (Wow!) Bu-, bu-, but tell your story You know the one I like (Ride, ride, ride) Say it for me Riders on the storm (Ride, ride, ride) Riders on the storm (Ride, ride, ride) Into this house we're born (Into this house we're born) Into this world we're thrown (Into this world we're thrown) Like a dog without a bone (Woof, woof) An actor out on loan Riders on the storm (Ride, ride, ride) There's a killer on the road (Killer, killer, murder, murder, murder) His brain is squirmin' like a toad Take a long holiday (Holidays, holidays) Let your children play (C'me here and play) If you give this man a ride Sweet family will die (Ride, ride, ride) Killer on the road (Killer, murder, murder, murder, murder, murder) Yeah! Goin' off of this, goin' off of that With the Lizard king bumpin' in the back, how 'bout that? Driftin', liftin', swiftin' (Let 'em in. let 'em in) Coastin', testaroastin' (Yeah) But the wheels won't stop (Won't stop) 200 on the highway, fresh up off the block He's a rider? (Woo, woo) Naw, he's a killer Dressed in all black, but his hat says Steeler (Steeler, Steeler) Pedal to the metal (Metal) I gotta go hard, drive by and say "hello" Hey, Fredwreck, you my mello Now let me hear what I sound like acapella (Shh) Wow, ride, dip swish Now bring it back, just like this Like a dog without his bone Unlike a G without his chrome It's hard to imagine The homie dog in a Jag and he's checkin' for the checkered flagin' Comin' in first, never in last 'Cause my car too fast (Zoom, zoom) I never ever run outta gas 'Cause I'm just too clean, I do it upperclass So fasten your seat belts It's so hot, it'd even make heat melt (Woo, woo) So get a board and roll and ride Slip through the slip and slide Like a dog without a bone An actor out on loan Riders on the storm
This is one of the best games I have ever played in my life and it is also one of the best games ever made by EA. Please bring this GOTY back. I have been waiting for this for a long time and for people to experience the best racing game.
Let's get this baby up, the best car game ever! i know Fast And Furious actually tried to do a videogame, but this is the real F&F game at the best, you have open world hub, you customize your car like it's Xzibit show, amazing all around just pure fun arcade and the blueprint of the current games
I know its not gonna happen because of licenses and stuff like that but we really need OG NFS games back... Its really convenient installing them without searching for cracks and stuff like that. Aside from that these are the "True" arcade racers that most ppl fell in love and still come back from time to time.

Probably the first game I played on PC! So many memories of tuning, and I continue to listen to the classics from the soundtrack to this day. Riders on the storm... I gotta go listen to it just now.

I would love to be able to get every NFS game available... unfortunately, these probably won't happen. For once, EA is not necessarily the problem, but the car brands. Still, i'm gonna vote for all of them because, who knows? You might be able to get the rights to sell them.

Easily my favorite NFS game, and I have the PS2 version. Customizable cars, an awesome soundtrack. I'd love to see this in full HD with antialiasing and the works.

This is the racing game. I think of virtual cars, I think of this one. So many hours of my youth spent on this, listening to it's banger soundtrack and making my car the fanciest piece of machinery on the map. It had a lot going on, and i'm sad to see it no longer being available
O meu primeiro jogo nfs do Playstation 2 para mim um dos melhores need for speed da era de ouro da saga na minha opinião joguei muito esse jogo no Playstation 2
Those games also need your vote!

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2The Need for Speed series returns, this time reverting back to the 'chase' arcade experience instead of a racing simulation. Top speed racing is the name of the game, where you must outchase not just the opposing drivers, but the cops. Choose from a selection of today's (and yesterday's) top sports cars, including the Ferrari F50, Porsche 911 and a range from the likes of Ford, Corvette, BMW, Lotus, Mercedes, Aston Martin, the McLaren F1 and a lot more. The competitive race mode allows you to take on other drivers and beat them to the line. A selection of tracks allows you to not only dodge incoming traffic, but perform deadly jumps and stunts to receive points. These points, combined with the points recieved from your finishing position, can unlock new cars and tracks. The Hot Pursuit mode combines all the major elements of the competitive mode with the chance to out run the cops. They will throw everything at you to try and stop you, including running you off the road, setting up road blocks and unleashing an attack helicopter equiped with missiles. Three busts by the cops ends the race.
