Prerendered point-and-clicks are rare these days, and it's rarer still that they come complete with full motion video (FMV). As soon as I found out about Neyyah, it became the new release that I was most looking forward to, above and beyond any triple-A titles.
When the demo was released earlier this year (2025) I made an extra effort to set aside some time to play it, and I was not disappointed.
Neyyah is a testament to the fact that sometimes techniques that are considered 'outdated' can and should be a stylistic choice. Sometimes new games simulating the aesthetics of old games is a good move, especially when those aesthetics have a charm that stylistically modern games can't even hope to approximate.
