My first real RPG. Unforgettable story, incredibly charming and unique characters, art style, music and... the heartbreaking feeling of losing a loved one (damn you, Zio...). The name "Alys" has always stuck with me and, as a kid, I decided my daughter would be named after Alys Brangwin. Fast forward 30 years later, I'm a proud dad of a girl called Alys (Btw, I only disclosed the inspiration to her mom waaay later ;) )

I got this game along with so many others, mostly JRPGs, from an older neighbor when he was done playing video games in general. Somehow I had missed this series but he had everything except the first one in his collection, which became mine. I love Phantasy star IV so much, it was so epic back in the day, even if the sound on my cartridge was dead for some reason, I still played it, and even having heard the music almost a decade later online, I still feel the feelings I felt in those moments, so under rated.

First jrpg I ever played and thoroughly enjoyed as a 10 year old. Played through it a couple of times and discovered several macros, many fond memories. My first DND wizard was named Rune
I got to play this through a few Sega compilation games. Usually I'm not a fan of this style RPG games. I will say very quickly I ended up loving this one. Originally planned to be an Sega CD game. This is rather impressive Sega Genesis can play this game so well. This is easily the greatest RPG game on the system by far. You get so much content to keep you busy for hours. The audio as a whole is beautifully well done. Truly rememberable characters you'll deeply care about. I absolutely loved parts of the story done in this unique anime style. Phantasy Star IV was meant to be the end of the classic Phantasy Star series. It's safe to say it ended on such a great note. This game is beyond words truly amazing in every possible way imaginable!!!

It was the first and only time I've actually shed a tear in a videogame. Incredible storytelling behind what's apparently another JRPG. I played it back in the 90s in my Megadrive and it's one of my most beloved games ever.

Parasite Eve II
Parasite Eve IIParasite Eve II is an action role-playing survival horror video game released exclusively for the PlayStation. The game was developed by Square and published in Japan in 1999 and in both North America and, unlike the previous game, in PAL regions in 2000. It is the sequel to Parasite Eve and the second game in the series of the same name. Parasite Eve II is set several years after the events in the original game. The protagonist from the first game, Aya Brea, also features in this game as the playable character. She becomes involved with another outbreak of Mitochondrial creatures. Gameplay diverges from the previous game: battles take place in real time and the area of action is less restrictive. The approach is more typical of traditional survival horror games, although some role-playing elements are retained.
