by Capcom
Genres:Adventure
Themes:Action, Horror, Survival
Game modes:Single player
Story:The hugely popular Resident Evil series, having sold over 61 million units to date, returns to its roots with a remastered version of the critically acclaimed masterpiece, Resident Evil. Originally released in 1996, Resident Evil was then “remade” in 2002 from the ground up with new visuals, gameplay elements, environments and story details while retaining the survival horror atmosphere the series had become synonymous for. Both fans of the franchise who want a trip down memory lane and those who have yet to experience the game that coined the term survival horror for the gaming world will appreciate this definitive re-visit of that iconic 2002 Resident Evil title. The intense horror fans first experienced with the release of the original Resident Evil is back. Taking place in the now notorious Raccoon City, players will choose to take on the role of either S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team member Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, who have been sent into the city to find the missing Bravo team. When the team is suddenly attacked by a ferocious group of mutated dogs, desperate for an escape they take shelter in the Mansion, but will they ever get out alive again? Players will need to be brave as they adventure through the dark, enclosed spaces searching out the horrors that await them. With limited ammo and survival items available gamers will need to keep their wits about them to survive the various traps and puzzles that greet them at every stage.Show more

When I started playing this game, I was in a point of my life where I was often called monotone, quiet, and unemotional because of my deep voice. Then those f***ing dogs burst through the windows in the hallway and I screamed so hard, people said my voice possessed a clear and pure soprano. Thanks Resident Evil!!!
Resident Evil Remake on GameCube surprised the world. A mind blowing recreation of a classic PS1 survival horror game. Some could argue ways it's done that better than Resident Evil 2 Remake. I personally prefer the overall environment more. Even if you played a lot of Resident Evil 1 Classic it won't help much. The game vastly different making it a truly rememberable experience. Yes this introduced Crimson Heads. I actually felt some sections were notably improved to be even scarier. This is still among the greatest Resident Evil games ever made!!!

Recently, it seems GOG has been in a polyamorous relationship with Night Dive Studios and Bethesda. But it seems Capcom is flirting too much and seducing them. Please, GOG release this remastered title; it has to be paired with the original.
This game is a masterpiece of horror. It deserves it's preservation on GOG along a few fixes that Capcom didn't care to give it. Such as... - Gamecube music restoration - Resolution higher then 1920x1440 (up to 4K) - Fix for the lighting system - Fix for widescreen not displaying correct ratio (can't see chandelier in widescreen for exemple) - Mouse Cursor visible during gameplay - Fix for the elevator being reversed in the lab (goes up instead of going down) - Modern Controller support - Refresh rate increased from 60hz to monitor settings (doesn't support that currently) This game is an improvement over the OG on so many ways.. New enemies, improved lore , new rooms, a new boss, new unlockables, new cutscenes, reworked OST , two new costumes and a new galery for all the endings. I grew up with Gamecube version which is way superior to this HD version. The music is also better in the OG release. I hope GOG will do what this masterpiece deserve.
Those games also need your vote!

Gregory Horror Show
Gregory Horror ShowA bizarre adventure game that follows the adventures of a main hero named Gregory whose purpose it is to collect lost souls in a haunted mansion. This hotel of the undead is filled with a bizarre group of guests -- along with Gregory and a mischievous little punk kid called James. Your goal is to steal the soul fragment (contained in milk bottles) that each guest holds. Doing so will, as Death informed you, get you out of the hotel, and apparently fill you in on why you were out walking about in the forest in the first place. You obtain the soul fragments by interacting with guests and solving basic puzzles. The game ends when you've run out of spirit as indicated by a spirit meter.

Like the previous entries, Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror combining action-based combat and puzzle-solving, but is somewhat more combat-oriented than the preceding installments. The main character is able to side-step and block some attacks, but in general shares with the other protagonists of the series their relative ineptitude in combat.
