This game is a real gem, which few people know about. I've finished it many times and never get tired of it. It's really a shame that few people know about it.. If it were revived today I'm sure that a lot of people would love it... Now the only way to play it is via an old console.. Really a shame, it's really worth it

This game did turn based strategy like no one else. Real time battles with infantry on the ground and as crew for your mech, each with different skills to use, and different stats depending on where you deploy them. Nothing like it has ever been released, and the gameplay holds up very well today. This was a defining title of my childhood that I continue to enjoy, but would be an instant buy if updated for modern machines.

I got this game along side Jak 3 when my parents bought me a PS2 for Hanukkah. I used to play this game a lot until I got stuck on one of the levels, and then I traded it with one of my friends in grade school for Tekken 4, and to this day I still regret this decision. I had such great memories playing this game and it’s a real shame this game is almost being forgotten and I have my doubts Konami is ever gonna do anything with the franchise, so please bring it back, it for games like this that wishlist was made for.

A legitimate forgotten gem. The game play mix between turn based and real time tactics is truly unique. I have waited and search for any game with similar mechanics, but have found none that can truly compare to how this game plays. This game needs to be playable in some form for old and new players to enjoy.
This game taught my ADHD ass to be patient and get that percentage up to 80% for a hit. Game taught me a lot when I was younger with strategies and got me into alternative historical events. I wish I could find an easier way to play besides emulation now... Vote it up!

I still own this on PS2, wish they would either remake it or make a new series with a similar mechanics to it. Always felt great rescuing civilians and having them join as a new unit to snipe or launch airburst grenades at my enemies while I pilot a walking/spider tank during the awesome action parts mixed in with my strategy game.
Ring of Red is the most unique tactical RPG ever made and we will never see a game like it again. I used to reserve this game at the video store so I could rent it on the weekends and at the time it was right up there with Ogre Battle 64. The setting is post WW2 Japan, but Soviet Russia also takes over the country along with the US and Cold War tensions escalate. Also someone decided to invent the AFW; Armoured Fighting Walker. Basically a tank on legs powered by diesel! There are different classes of AFW and they are supported by infantry squads on the battlefield, each with their own abilities and skills. Alongside the pilot, AFWs can also be crewed by infantry for even more options. Gameplay consists of a world map on which you move your units and engage with the enemy. When a fight happens you switch to a combat screen where you control the range of your mech and the position of your infantry. When you have loaded your guns an aiming reticle appears and the longer you focus your aim the higher your chance to hit, just don't take too long or the foe may fire first, disrupting your shot! A very unique battle system that you just have to try to fully appreciate. You can unlock special units and items and the combinations of infantry and mechs is pretty deep. The story had my attention at 15 but looking back I can see how some criticised it as sparse, though I did play an emulated version recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think this game deserves preservation as one of Konami's hidden gems - I would even go so far as to say it's worthy of a remake! I would buy this game in a heartbeat if it came on GOG.
Those games also need your vote!
Wizardry I & II
Wizardry I & IIWizardry I & II contains the first two installments of the Wizardry series: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord and Knight of Diamond. Both games were ported to the PC Engine (TurboGrafx) CD console with various enhancements, unreleased separately. In fact, the two games are merged into one, as the player is able to play through both of them continuously directly from the main menu. Though the game(s) are rather faithful in gameplay and graphical design to the original computer versions, the enhancements are significant enough to consider this release a remake. Similarly to the NES / Famicom version, the dungeons have simple graphics, unlike the computer originals with their vector lines. Enemy sprites are also more detailed and occupy a larger portion of the screen. A pre-made party of six is available to the player right at the beginning, consisting of characters with generic names ("Fighter", "Samurai", etc.); creating own characters (unlike in the modified PC Engine CD version of Might and Magic), however, remains possible. Dungeon navigation is accompanied by orchestrated CD audio music in this version. The battle music is in PSG format.
