This is one of the greatest turn-based RPGs, and it's stuck on the 3DS. The lead cast of characters are all beliveable, a group of friends torn apart by a larger struggle going on around them.
But what makes it special is it's unique approach to the "strange man in strange land" approach. Bit of a spoiler: the lead cast, who live in medieval fantasy land akin to 16th century Europe discover that underneath their kingdom is modern day Tokyo. And while the player recognizes the modern items easily, the characters still maintain their charming approach to guns, alcohol, computers and other.
It IS a Shin Megami Tensei game, meaning gameplay-wise the priority is on strategy, rather than just outleveling the opponents. It brings the usual MegaTen cast of demons, while providing some improvements to the system, the main one being having more control of which skills demon inherit from the fusion.
Persona fans will enjoy this one, JRPG fans will enjoy this one, and MegaTen fans already seem to like this one.
And while unlikely this game is leaving 3DS any time soon, if it ever did get a PC release, I would be lined up among the first buyers, just for the chance to experience one of my favourite games on a large screen.
