I'll be honest with you, this game needs a port badly. It appears in no other forms outside of the PS2 and it is an absolutely legendary RPG. It pushed the PS2 to its absolute limits, had a completely never before OR after seen crafting system, had extremely impactful depth, and all of this in an ACTION Rpg. It doesn't deserve the rub it's gotten.

This was the second action JRPG I played back in 2003. My mom randomly surprised me with this game on my 13th birthday. I had never heard of the series before but she knew I was into anime and had recently played through Kingdom Hearts the previous year. I have so many memories staying up all night during the summer to play and having to sneak/pretend that I slept the night before when my parent woke up to go to work. This game meant a lot to me when I was younger and unfortunately, I lost it after my house was broken into. I never owned another copy and finding a hard copy for a reasonable price feels impossible. I would love to actually own this game via GOG. So I'd appreciate it if this game were to be added to this library. I think it's an outstanding JRP that deserves to be preserved.
One of the best JRPGs of all time that is locked to a platform with a curator that does not care about the genre at all as they are too focused on "western" games. This game slaps all the right ways
Truly one of my favorite games of all time - a friend gave it to me in high school on a whim, and I became so enraptured that I'm still hauling out my old PS2 almost 20 years later to play it again! I'd never played a SO game before, but the story and mechanics in this one blend so beautifully, and the narrative heel turn it takes still charms me. I've even still got my old Bradley guide (held together by duct tape), SO3 is really one of the absolute best!
In my opinion the peak of the series. Entries after all have flaws, overcomplicated combat, terrible AI, or just downright malfunctional. But TTEOT exemplifies the JRPG genre in the best ways. Fun, yet challenging combat that had no problem punishing you if you weren't prepared. A crafting minigame that WASN'T a slog, a compelling story that kept me on the edge of my seat and well rounded, interesting characters that were written well enough to make me care for them. The PS2 holds some of the greatest RPGs in history, and this game definitely deserves to be preserved along with them.
one of the first star ocean games i beat. i got this game back in the day on day one release. since its been made available on ps4/5 i have played and beat it a few more times. i would love for this to be available on pc

I will GLADLY tell my story. It was legit the first Action JRPG I played and it opened the door for me to try other star ocean, tales series, final fantasy, legend of dragoon, and many other titles. As it stands, I can only play this on the ps2, and ps4/5. Ps2 has av connectors that dont play well with lcd and oleds and the ps4 version keeps freezing. This is my last hope (pun).
I would love to see this game ported here. It was the first JRPG I ever played, and it inspired me to play more JRPGs. This game needs a port because it is only on the PS2. So a port would be great PLZ GOG.

I remember this game when I was in middleschool. Such memorable music, sound effects, story, characters and so on. I will never forget getting to the final boss and beating the game to find out there are WAY TOUGHER BOSSES post main game. This game has its flaws, but its one of the only games where the flaws cant keep me from returning to play the game. If you too like this game as much as I do, please share this in any jrpg/ star ocean community so that we may one day see this game finally ported to PC. Do keep in mind even though its on PS4/PS5 as downloadble game, there is no garuantee we will have access to it on future PS consoles. Show your support by sharing the link to this page to have others vote for this game to be ported by GOG to PC!!! I appreciate everyone who vores/ shares the link.
Those games also need your vote!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
