Story:The Lawnmower Man is the game based on the 1992 movie of the same name (itself loosely based on a Stephen King short story) starring pre-Bond fame Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Lawrence Angelo, a scientist working for Virtual Space Industries in "Project 5", a secret research that attempts to increase the intelligence of primates using psychotropic drugs and VR training.
With his reluctance to aim the research to military purpose, after one of the chimps escapes and shoots a guard in the process he is given a forced vacation, and while taking notes on the need for experiment with a human subject, he notices Jobe Smith (Jeff Fahey), a simpleton who makes his living on odd jobs such as mowing the grass (hence, the title role). The first experiments quickly increase Jobe's intelligence, and while after an accident Angelo stopped the experiments, The Shop, a secret agency overviewing Project 5, reinserted the drugs responsible for violent behaviour into the program and sped up the treatment. As Jobe starts to develop telekinetic powers, he starts to take revenge on those who abused him before he started the treatments, and plots to take over all computers in the world.
While the CD version of the game (PC, Mega CD) is an interactive movie, both cartridge versions are platformers, the player taking control of Dr. Angelo or Carla Parkette (mother of Jobe's best friend) in typical side-scrolling shooting action. The player can collect better weapons or data discs, which after collecting a number of them allow to morph into the Virtual Suit, which gives protection against a first hit. The player visits several locations seen in the movie, such as the gas pump and the VSI headquarters.
The twists of the game are true-3D level connectors, based on the CG sequences of the movie, usually all involving avoiding obstacles (and the occasional shooting) at high speed in the VR world. There are four different (Virtual World, Cyber War, Cyber Run and Cyber Tube), each taking a slightly different approach (Virtual World is seen in first person, the objective being dodging obstacles such as trees and archs and reach the exit, Cyber War similar to Virtual World but with some shooting stops, Cyber Run is seen in third person and requires occasional shooting of obstacles, while Cyber Tube is a fast travel with plenty of enemies in a VR tunnel).Show more

Pokémon MezastarPokémon Mezastar is an arcade game developed by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. and Marvelous, which also developed the Pokémon Battrio, Pokémon Tretta, and Pokémon Ga-Olé arcade games. Pokémon Mezastar was officially announced in the May 2020 issue of CoroCoro released on April 15, with more details revealed in a press release on August 12. It was intended to be launched in Japan during summer 2020, but was delayed until September 17 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The game incorporates similar features to the developer's previous titles and continues the use of physical peripherals, in this case tags, to operate Pokémon in battles. These battles are conducted with three Pokémon on each side and take place in a variety of environments. Players can capture Pokémon while playing the game, which are dispensed as tags from the machine.
Each Pokémon Mezastar machine consists of two adjacent stations that share a large monitor. This monitor displays the user interface for individual stations, simulating the borders of the display with on-screen graphics while single-player games are in operation. Players can also partake in cooperative battles, during which the interface is expanded to cover both stations. This was previously featured in the arcade title Pokémon: Battle Nine, despite being promoted as a first for a Pokémon arcade machine.Action
Pokémon BattrioPokémon Battrio is an arcade video game that was announced on April 11, 2007 and released on November 21, 2007 in Japan. The video game requires players to move certain tazos with Pokémon on a grid. The video game is made for two-player multiplayer, where players will fight against other Pokémon. Each player can use up to three Pokémon. It is the first heavily edited Pokémon title for arcades.
This video game was not released internationally outside of Japan. Due to its popularity, a new version called Battrio: V was made, which, as its name says, contains Pokémon of the fifth generation.
Pokémon TrettaPokémon Tretta is an arcade game developed by Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. and Marvelous AQL, which also developed the Pokémon Battrio arcade game. Officially announced on April 18, 2012, Pokémon Tretta was rolled out nationwide in Japan in early July, phasing out the majority of retired Battrio machines. The arcade machines became fully operational on July 14, 2012 with the release of the first set. The machines are also available in Taiwan in Traditional Chinese and in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong in English.
Like its predecessor, Pokémon Tretta focuses on three-on-three Pokémon battles that require special tiles, called Tretta, that depict one of the various Pokémon species in order to play. Unlike Battrio however, Tretta incorporates searching and capturing Pokémon in various locations. Pokémon caught in-game are dispensed for players to use in other battles, or to add to their collection.
