This game is simply wonderful. It's so rare nowadays that they sell copies on certain websites for roughly $300 and some are going for 2000$. This game is precious, I have known it for a long time and I will protect it with my life. Hopefully all of the features in the good old PC version is retained because the PC version at the time was the best. Being able to make your own custom hero was one of the great features.

Although the first iteration was way more immersive for me (probably because it carried some movie memories). This one had way more interesting mechanics, monsters and stories and allowed to dive into the world of books. Really enjoyed it!

its a childhood gem of mine that i allways have come back to, it is so mutch fun to make a massive army of orcs, goblins, dragons or trolls and just desemate your enemys with numbers and power, its really easy to pick up and play and easy to learn with its rock-paper-siscors gameplay where you can play with your favorit heroes and villains, hell you can even have sauron on the field to destroy everything with or make your very own hero to save the day, i would give anything to get this game a remaster and have it on GOG, its shutch a fantasitc game

The first Battle for Middle-earth was great, and the co-op of this game was even better because it offered more options and, I seem to recall, a more stable network code. Leveling the heroes and unlocking their special abilities was a lot of fun, and the management of the conquest world map, with its troop movements and garrisons added so much that a linear campaign couldn't. All in all definitely one of the greatest RTS games I've played.
Like the first "Battle for Middle-Earth" game, this is one my favourite RTSes. Again, you can play on either the "Good" or "Evil" side, but this time your choices are expanded to play as Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Goblins, Orthanc (where Saruman lives) or Mordor. It's a fun, high-energy game in any case. The first game follows the movies pretty closely. The second tells the story of what happens while the Fellowship is away on their quest. What made this game unforgettable for me were not only the battles (which are awesome!), but also the fact that you can play a "Risk"-style campaign across Middle-Earth, where you strive to take your opponent's capital (e.g. Orthanc, Mordor, The Shire etc.) You can also play "Skirmish"-style battles, where you not only fight your opponents, but also -- if you're lucky enough to find and slay Gollum -- you can command the One Ring to summon special allies. (I won't spoil it). :-) I would also recommend the expansion, "The Rise of the Witch-King", which tells the story of the Witch-King of Angmar and his rise to power. (If you remember the films, the Witch-King fights Gandalf at Minas Tirith and ends up killing Theoden, only to be slain by Eowyn and Merry, at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields). But where did he come from, and what did he do? This expansion answers that, and a lot more. Like the first game, this is an awesome RTS, full of action and planning, and very immersive too. Two thumbs up, way up!

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II need to be preserved. It is a masterpiece of the video game industry and continues with beautiful graphics even though it is an old game and great gameplay.

This game truly expanded on what made first game so good (except mashing Rohan and Gondor as a single faction), original music rivaled score made by Howard Shore and story was fun. Expansion was even better. Truly magical games.

Unfortunately, this game can't be replaced. This is a great wound in our hearts. A AAA quality remake is our biggest hope. What I saw on the screen when I used that 10 level ability for the first time after leveling Gandalf to 10 was priceless.

I would give you arm and a leg for a chance to buy this gem. Used to play it with my friends back in the school days. We´ve had so much fun. One of the best RTS of its time (and maybe even now). It bugs me you can´t buy this game anymore. Please. Make it happen.

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
Harvest Moon: Save the HomelandThe first Harvest Moon game for the PS2 takes a little deviance from all the other games in the series. The goal this time around is to save your town from being turned into a resort next year. The game focuses more on relationships than making money - which is the goal in all other Harvest Moon games to date. You still are running a farm and must succeed in the life of a farmer, but the actual gameplay rewards those who interact with the townspeople over those who just work the fields.

Utopia: The Creation of a Nation
Utopia: The Creation of a NationUtopia takes the Sim City gameplay concept and adds a military element to it. The game is set in the distant future, where your job is nothing less than Colony Administrator for a new settlement on some far-flung planet. Your aim is to provide the highest Quality of Life rating for the colonists. You do so by ensuring that there is enough life support, power, housing, employment, police and entertainment to keep the citizens of your colony happy. Hindering your goal are random events such as solar eclipses (which can render your solar panels inactive) and also a different, hostile alien race that inhabits the planets in the many scenarios at offer. Not only do you have to be a good mayor but you also have to be a good general. Resources must not only be attributed to civilian research but into weapons research, intelligence and the building of tanks and spaceships, if you wish to survive long enough to see your colony flourish into a metropolis. As a rule, you will have built a strong colony before the aliens come, but the final push towards a QOL of 80% or higher can only be achieved once there is no outside threat.

SWAT 4
SWAT 4To simulate realistic police procedures, SWAT 4' encourages the use of non-lethal force to subdue and arrest subjects rather than incapacitating or killing them. In addition, players must follow strict protocol to ensure proper use of force. Players may not fire on suspects with lethal weapons unless the suspect points their firearm at a fellow officer or a civilian. Penalties are given for unauthorized use of force, injuries to hostages, officer incapacitation, and personal injury. On the higher difficulty levels, more points are required to pass the mission, with 100 being perfect. On the most difficult level, Elite, players need a 95/100 to pass, and will fail for killing even a single suspect, losing more than two team members without committing an infraction, or committing any infraction in addition to being injured.

Conquest Earth: First Encounter
Conquest Earth: First EncounterThis RTS (real-time strategy) game tells the story of a futuristic war between the humans and the inhabitants of Jupiter (Jovians). The player can choose to command the armies of either side. Humans and Jovians have different menu layouts and tactics which they can employ for offensive and defensive actions. Also, the Jovians must deal with the atmosphere of the Earth, which obstructs their view, by using special troops; the humans also face a problem in the sulphur shrouds of Jupiter. The game implements its own view system for battles. Some may know it from their TV's - there's a picture-in-picture option to view 3 different locations at the same time. You can choose from two modes of play, normal RTS, or a more complicated variant which is just playable if you're confident with the manual.
