Story:Wizard of Wor is an action-oriented game for one or two players. The game takes the form of several maze-like dungeons infested with monsters. The players' characters, called Worriors, have to kill all the monsters. Player one has yellow Worriors, on the right, and player two has blue Worriors, on the left. In a two-player game, the players are also able to shoot each other's Worriors, earning bonus points and causing the other player to lose a life. Team-oriented players can successfully advance through the game by standing back-to-back (such as in a corner) and firing at anything that comes at them.Show more

This was my first game on the C64. We played it for hours on end. The changing difficulty and friendly fire made it a great game to play together too. So you could decide to team up and reach new heights or use the lower levels to have a shoot out.

We got a C64 model C as a christmas present with my brother, I think it was in 1987. It came with the cassette deck, so no disk drive and there was a game collection bundled, called "10 great games". We had been hoping to get a C64 for some time already so we had copied some cassette games from friends in advance and in those cassettes was also "Wizard Of Wor" and we played that quite alot. Unexpectedly our parents also got excited about this game and at some point it was time for us kids to go to bed while our parents kept on playing. They played for so long that the transformer heated up and a fuse broke and we, kids could not play our games for couple of days......Anyway, this is a nice example of a game that has aged really well, it's just as fun today as it was back then decades ago.
