Story:Released in 1995, X-Men 2: Clone Wars is a platform game created by Headgames and published by Sega of America for the Mega Drive/Genesis. Serving as a sequel to 1993's X-Men, the game is inspired by the Marvel Comics superhero team, the X-Men. This marks Sega's second X-Men game for the Genesis. In this instalment, an extraterrestrial entity called the Phalanx aims to take control of the Earth, and the X-Men emerge as humanity's last line of defence against this impending threat. The gameplay closely resembles the side-scrolling action of its predecessor. Notably, there is an expanded roster of playable characters, including Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Wolverine, Cyclops, and Magneto.Show more

I was a Sega kid growing up, playing countless hours on my dad's Genesis, and one of the many games we had was X-Men 2. The cold opening confused me as a kid and I never got past the introductory level - I don't think I was very bright back then - but I still found the game quite fun. Today I find it fascinating, and would love to see a modern re-release on GOG so I can actually have a chance to play it.

Metal Slug 6
Metal Slug 6Metal Slug 6 returns to the Rebel-Martian alliance featured in Metal Slugs 2, X, and 3, but on a much broader scale. Rather than repeating the previous games' events of the Martians breaking the alliance and the Rebels assisting the player in turn, the player now teams up with the Rebels and Martians to combat an even greater threat. Metal Slug 6 introduces a new play mechanic dubbed the 'Weapon Stock System'. Two gun power-ups can now be carried at the same time. Players can switch between the two weapons, or simply put them both away in favor of the default weapon. When obtaining a new weapon power-up, it will automatically occupy the inactive slot, or, if both are holstered, replace the less recent weapon of the two. The score is now multiplied by powers of 2. The faster the speed at which enemies are killed, the higher the power, as a meter at the bottom of the screen shows. When it says "Max" enemies and destructible objects will drop coins for an extra high score.

Super Bubble Bobble
Super Bubble BobbleSuper Bubble Bobble is a platform game, replicating the gameplay and levels of Bubble Bobble, with each level being a single screen. The enemies must be cleared from a level to go on to the next one. With one player controlling Bub and the other controlling Bob, the player can jump and collect items for points. Bub and Bob must blow bubbles. These bubbles can be as platforms to leap on, or to trap enemies. Enemies trapped in a bubble must be popped by jumping into them, wherein they'll turn to fruit. These fruits must be collected! Additionally, power-ups sometimes float by in bubbles. They include lightning, which flies out horizontally at enemies, and water, which drags the player and enemies straight down flowing over platforms.

Arcade America

Each level consists of a couple of smaller micro-levels and is set in an iconic location within the States, such as Alcatraz or Las Vegas, and has its own specific enemies. The goal on each level is to rescue one of the monsters. While moving between levels, you take part in a crazy minigame where you control Joey's car as he drives towards the next area. While driving, Joey must avoid obstacles on his way, but he can also collect ammunition and shoot at the obstacles.
