dont work
ok do any of your other games work i.e, something that uses DX?
no = your Gpu drivers are not installed correct

yes at least 1 game or graphics software that needs DX works then it must be a permission issue and the basic fix is to uninstall the game\ remove all the files

make a new different folder [not in c programs] and install the game into this new folder, restart your computer and test... still doesn't work = your system needs help and we have to start looking at each piece of equipment to figure out which one is having the issue i.e, what motherboard, ram, Cpu etc
I have the exact same problem after updating to win 11.

=========================
tried all the usual things like:

.net framework uncheck -> restart -> check -> restart

Run as administrator

Use compatibility mode

Reinstalled the app (plenty of times)

Uninstalled all Visual C++ then installed them all (64 bit and then 64bit and 32bit together)

Upadte directX which was already latest version

Installed latest windows update (fortunately there was one yesterday)

Disk check
===========================

nothing worked for me

And they tell us Linux is the user-unfriendly one.
As always, depends on the user I guess...
low rated
Windows 11 is new and most laptops are not made to run it yet so I will wait

Linux is the user-unfriendly one as soon as you want to do anything under the hood
download openal32.dll 64 bit version and put it into your game directory
now theres no sound :(
Windows 11 is new so there may be issues with older games. Eventually a patch or workaround will develop. Just curious, are you playing the online or offline version?

Except Linux actually lets me go under the hood. Windows has been locking itself down more and more with each iteration.

So, are you saying those of us who can’t get Siberia TWB might have to wait for some updates to OS11 before it will play?
I have the same problems as others trying to get the game to launch (I managed to fix that) and having the game freeze or not respond to the .exe.

So: would it help to dl the offline backup game installers, which include patches, and see for I can get the game to run, or is this a Microsoft problem ?

Better yet, when will this game be available for Macs?!?

I do not have your OS chops so I can't help with your main question. But I can tell you that you won't find updates in the offline files that are not accounted for in the Galaxy version. In fact, it sometimes happens that the offline files are stale and obsolete. Also note that their patches actively look at your current build and will refuse to do anything if your build does not match what they expect.

You might open a ticket and let the support guys take a look. I've had mixed results with them, but sometimes they've had me back up within a couple of days.
