It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

paulmarkcastillo: I finally found the solution:

netsh winsock reset

You type that on the command-line (as an administrator).

I found the solution in the Guild Wars Help Page:

help.guildwars2.com/entries/93290408-Problems-Downloading-or-Patching

@To the developers reading this

I'm no technical guy, but:

1.) What caused my network to change? VPN Softwares? Bandwidth Limiters? Downloaders?

2.) How to check the network settings?

3.) What's the original network settings?
thank you so so so much! !

timppu: Well well, I get the "essential components are missing"-error on this laptop when I installed and tried to launch the latest Galaxy. I earlier had some older Galaxy version on this working, but uninstalled it.

Beta... I think on my other laptop it still worked fine, at least the last time I tried. Oh well, not in a hurry personally to use it anyway. Uninstalled it for now, I'm using my GOG games without the Galaxy client at least for now (and probably beyond).

EDIT: Maybe my problem is related to this:

http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=1868#c4569

Ie., if you uninstall and re-install Galaxy to a different place than before (like I did), there is still some registry entry pointing to the old installation location.

EDIT2: Yep, there are some Galaxy registry entries left behind to the Windows registry, even after Galaxy uninstallation. ImagePath is still pointing to the directory where I originally installed Galaxy. Maybe removing those entries manually fixes it... Why is it so hard for applications to tidy up the registry completely, after uninstallation? Is that just the nature of the beast, some things just tend to be left there?
bro did you fix it plz help me

No, sorry I haven't used Galaxy ever since (and won't be installing it for now as I don't like games auto-launching it, if it is installed in the system).

UndeadNecro: It seems that Kaspersky, which I have, interferes with many programs. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm assuming it has something to do with the threats/exclusions aka trusted programs mode but I checked and GOG Galaxy has full permissions and isn't being blocked.

dziecinka: Yes I think this is Kaspersky. I had it but now I use different antyvirus. I also reinstalled my system. It helped.
Happened to me recently. I was looking for a post discussing this issue. My Kaspersky was blocking the access while signing in. I tried using a VPN service but filed. Had to disable the firewall's settings to make it work. Got the troubleshooting process from https://supportantivirus.org/k7-antivirus-customer-support/

Ditto.
Same occured with me, can't log in through GOG galaxy
Me too, can't log in to Galaxy. Good ol' reliable GOG Downloader works have no issues on the other hand.
Well, looks like it's this time again...
Ditto , can log into galaxy, but it won't sign into Gog to let me download.
Yeah, I can't log in to GOG Galaxy right now either. And I can't seem to download from the site either, clicking the manual install links isn't doing anything. Never had that problem before. Is something up with their servers or something?
Same issue here.
Same here
