It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

xxxIndyxxx: I just had to remove Avast since it started to interfere with a couple of programmes that I use on a daily basis. I have always been happy with it but now I need something else.

What is in your opinion the best free alternative? thx
This is the ONLY one you need and it doesn't interfere with anything

Here Download Bitdefender

It has:

1.) Intelligent antivirus
2.) Advanced threat defense
3.) Web attack prevention
4.) Anti-phishing and anti-fraud

and it's turbo charged!

Also If you want to clean up extra shit from your PC I can't reccommend Glary Utilities Pro enough

there is no best free antivirus they all pretty much do the same thing, and each one works differently on different systems

but programs you should have for security are

voodoo shield ( blocks unknown applications from running and you can create a whitelist) 100% free unless u wanna tweak all the settings then you gotta pay but it works fine by default

keyscrambler ( keyscrambler scrambles keystrokes with encryption, the free version only works on browsers you have to pay premium to get it to work on all other items)

malwarebytes ( free but it has real time protection if you pay for it which is worth having)

privazer ( privazer is a free program to clean up and delete rubbish from your pc its better than CCleaner as its more in depth and its notl ike all those other scam type pc cleaners i use it all the time and it works)

shutup10 ( ADVANCED USERS ONLY! if u want w10 privacy i reccomend this but be warned u can mess up your pc with this if you dnt understand the settings)

for a free antivirus you could downlaod ESET online scanner for free,
theres also panda,avira,avast,avg,comodo.

a good place to ask this question with more knowledgable people is malwaretips.com, they have security reviews and stuff there about allsorts of security software :) hope this helps someone
Another vote for Avira. It's just good overall and doesn't take much resources.
EDIT: Oh, necro-thread, forget it...
