Oh yeah, that game is awesome. I've been eying it. But I'm a cheap bastard and I'm going to wait until it goes half-off. I rarely play games, particularly new ones, and they have to be super cheap, or a remake of something I played as a kid, before I'm willing to plunk down $10 or more. But I'm definitely waiting for this one.
drmike: There's some discussion about Planetbase and if it's similar or not:

This game is really cool... definitely looks about as close as I'm going to get, thank you!
It lacks the underground building (that I always liked about Outpost), and lacks somewhat of the hard-edge... sort of the... do or die feel that Outpost had (that you're all alone other than the people counting on you). But really cool game.
Mr_GeO: Space Colony - but there's pretty big "Sims'ish" factor here;, available on GOG
Anno 2205 - but be prepared for every kind of retarded DRM trick to be pulled out, since it's Ubisoft game; of course not on GOG
Aven Colony - decent, but become pretty repetitive pretty quickly as there's not that much things to build and to do; not on GOG
There are some mods for SimCity4 that are adding futuristic lookin buildings, but technicaly it's not "space city builder"...
Thanks! That game is pretty neat too... honestly, I'll force myself to buy Planet Base, and then get the other two games when they go on sale.
