Autumn Sale is in full swing! Filled to the brim with nearly 5000 discounts on all kinds of titles – waiting for you to grab them!

And to make things even more awesome, today, a special kind of leaf fell in the GOG backyard…

Enjoy the GIVEAWAY of Whispering Willows – up for grabs for the next 72 hours (until October 6th, 1 PM UTC).

Whispering Willows is a horror/adventure puzzle game. Interact with the spirits of the dead, solve the puzzles of the mysterious mansion and help Elena find her missing father.

Best thing though? This game is also available on Amazon Luna – so it's a perfect occasion if you want to try a GOG title with Luna!

Check it out, claim the GIVEAWAY, and of course, enjoy Autumn Sale!
Are the giveaway's achievements working for anyone else?

I didn't think anything of it until I saw another review mentioning that they didn't trigger.
If only all gog game achievements didn't trigger. I might go on a small shopping spree in celebration.
Is anyone else having a problem with the GOG's Giveaways just saying "Success! -Name- was added to your library." automatically without actually allowing you to add the game to your library?

Could it be a problem with an outdated Chrome Browser or something to that effect? Nothing else in the Website seems to be having a problem, just the Giveaways.

It's been happening for quite a few people who already own the game (don't get a free gift key like usual). Dunno about those who didn't already own it. In any case, you can try contacting support and telling them you didn't get the game/a key.

Wurzelkraft: I also can not claim it and I tried all the things mentioned. On my first visit I succeeded (or so I thought) but I didn't get it in my library. The main page said that I claimed it. I saw a pending order for 0$ in my order history and when trying to complete it, it showed a checkout page with a price. Then after refreshing user and account the order disappeared and it still says I claimed it (also does so in the direct claim link). Weird.

solesurvivor83: Edit: After "refreshing" my account it seems the number of games in my library has decreased by 2...not sure if there is a correlation. Anyone? In any case, I have contacted support.
As some time has passed since the 'refreshing' of your accounts, for either of you, has the game appeared within your library? I only ask, as, at times, 10 or more minutes may be required for the procedure to produce results. Either way, as the solution should be rather simple, this is one problem (among many) that GOG should rectify.

No, the game is still not in my library. Still no response from support either.

It is called the Offline Backup Game Installer. I install games with that one when I don't want to bother with achievements.

djdarko: I purchased Dying Light: Definitive Edition and it's not showing as owned. Is that normal?
avatar
eiii: GOG considers it normal:
"Designations like Special Edition, Platinum Edition or similar are usually not
displayed in the library, which is intentional and connected to our product
configurations. Dying Light: Definitive Edition is the name of the bundle which
includes several individual products."

I consider it one of the most annoying bugs in GOG's shop which, together with the lack of a "not interested" option, makes browsing sales frustrating.
Thanks for the reply. I almost bought it a 2nd time thinking I didn't own it. Yeah, makes no sense. The 1 item that I actually purchased is not owned, but 30+ items I didn't purchase are marked as owned...

No changes.

It's a browser problem since, I think, two giveaways ago. It doesn't work for me on Edge, but when I change to Pale Moon I can claim the game.

I was jokingly suggesting that gog should remove achievements. I guess I was a bit TOO subtle :D

By any chance @MarkoH01 have you found a solution for the game achievements by yourself?

Definitely, the game has the achievements, but they don't activate.

I don't know, but something weird happened to me with Turok 2. I swear the game had achievements when I bought it and then they disappeared. Maybe it's a misjudgement on my part and it just seemed that way to me, but I'm not sure, really. And, well, it would be a shame if they removed the achievements from this game (Whispering Willows). At least as an additional challenge they're fun, but they're not everything. Anyway...

A hug!.

Edit.-

Unfortunately I was unable to bring them back. I tried several different GOG Steam wrapper files but none of them were working (I always tested until the first achievement would usually be unlocked). Since GOG is advertizing the game with achievements I created a support ticket. So far I did not get a reply though. I can only advise you to do the same so that GOG sees that this is a general problem and not a user based one.

Ok, @MarkoH01.
I will follow your advice and create a ticket with the query to GOG.
Thanks for replying. :)
A hug!
Support gave me a replacement code today and the game is now in my library.
