We're going to have a LAN party today with friends, so I'd like to ask what games would you recommend? It's going to be a typical oldschool LAN party with cables and perhaps internet too, however there's not going to be time to download any new games after it starts and not everyone has Steam (I think), so I'm looking for games that don't depend on Steam for multiplayer.

We're going to be playing Counter Strike and I'd love any recommendations for any other games that are easy to set up, there's going to be about 5-6 of us. Maybe not everyone will stay the whole time, so even games for 2-4 people are appreciated!

I'm looking mostly for

FPS games (especially co-op or tournaments, like Unreal Tournament)

Platformers

Roguelikes and those 2D action/adventure adventure games that are so much the craze now (esp. those pixel-looking ones)

Any board games?

And whatever you think is great!
