Hey everyone!

We want to thank you all for playing The Last Slaughter. As we're always looking for new ways to improve the game and make it as fun as possible, we decided to ask our community for some help!

We have one simple question to ask you: 'At what point did you stop playing the game, and why?'

This can include (but is not limited to):
Encountering a game-breaking bug
The game was too hard
The story wasn't progressing fast enough
I simply didn't like the gameplay
Etc ..

By knowing where certain hick-ups are located in the experience, we can fine-tune things and make it better.

Thanks for reading, and we're looking forward to your replies!
Hi LauraMoon99

I assume you are from the developers team,
Am I correct?

I saw this same question on the other store
and noticed Bullet Runner: The First Slaughter
doesnt have its own subforum here

You might ask the store staff to give you the developer role
and also create a subforum for the demo

And thanks for asking!
For that reason alone I am downloading the demo
I'll let you know my answer later. Regards
I have screen shake disabled but it still shakes in many places.

I don't like how the screen jerks back and forth depending where you're at on the screen.
I'd prefer it just follows the character and not move on it's own, never understood why these types of games had some dynamic camera when it messes with your aiming.

Hi! That's correct.
I'll see if we can get that sorted out, thanks for the tip!

You're awesome, many thanks!

Hi, thanks for the feedback!

Any screen shaking while the slider is all the way down should be considered a bug, and we'll be fixing this.
In regards to the camera smooth follow, I've never thought about it being a downside for some people, so thanks for pointing that out! I'll make sure we add an option to toggle it on/off

I didn't get past the screen shots.

The issue is entirely because I have blue-yellow colorblindness. It impacts things in the blue-green range (not an issue for this game) and the yellow-orange-red range (definitely the issue for this game). The consequence is that this game looks extremely red, like lots of overly saturated red just being thrown about everywhere to the extent that I can't tell what's going on in any of the screen shots. Trying to play would only result in frustration.

It's just something your art team might want to consider for future games in that stronger color variation really does help. :)

Hi! Thanks for leaving your feedback.

That's an interesting topic I honestly haven't thought about all too much, but nevertheless very important. I'll make sure we look into any feasible solutions within Bullet Runner that we could apply (adjustable screen filters etc.), and we'll definitely keep this in mind for any future projects!

Hi LauraMoon99
I just posted a PSA to the vgames demos enthusiasts here:

My feedback is still pending, sorry

Hi LauraMoon99,

Id like to start saying before I decided to play the demo,
I didnt. The reasons are:

1)The lack of some vgame video & the screenshots
telling me almost nothing about the gameplay
I mean, no menus, no status bars or something

2)The phrase

"This is a free to play early preview
of the massive full game coming out later in 2023"

Im not a fan of "in development" vgames
& when I vaguely read a demo in early preview
I ran away. My cruel honesty

I think is important to tell that because
thanks to your request for feedback is when I decided to give it a try!

Answering your simple question:

'At what point did you stop playing the game, and why?'

I havent! Im having a lot of fun playing your demo
I thank the happy coincidence that allowed me to reconsider to play it

If you are interested to know in a more detailed way
my gaming experience (WIP review?), the why's & allow me some questions/suggestions
please read my following lengthy post

Congratulations to your talented team!
Im looking forward for news about how things go!
Good luck & thanks for the generous demo!
This is my work in progress (WIP) review after playing for a couple of hours:
-Campaign Mode
-Easy Difficulty
-Default keyboard & mouse controls
(I havent finished yet, nor decided to stop playing)
Text presented as bullet lists with key numbering to ease reference

I LIKED (THEM ALL A LOT!)
L01-The "demo" isnt a demo so much:
2 full hours playing & havent finished yet! :)
L02-Unity engine telemetry disabled! :)
L03-Jack has attitude: Cursing, looking for trouble,
smoking...
L04-The game mechanics that encourage broader gameplay
than simply shooting!
L05-The way tutorials are triggered
L06-The 3d isometric view
L07-The action pause when changing weapon
L08-The opportunity to skip the initial screens "Escape to skip"
L09-The color code for keys!
No unnecessary trouble figuring out what door they open!
L10-The very generous amount of ammo & life refills
(Sure, Im on easy mode, but still!
Ask me again when I play on other difficulties...)
L11-The arcade machine. A very nice touch!
L12-Version number visible
L13-Last but not least: I had a lot of fun!

I DISLIKED
D01-It didnt detect my cheapo gamepad, therefore, I had to play with K&M
(Under normal circumstances that would have been a show stopper)
D02-Some readability issues. e.g
"Left shift" TO SLIDE
Where "Left shift" barely fits on its assigned squared space
D03-Some assigned keyboards controls
(I used the default, I'll remap when I resume my gameplay)
D04-The pixelated style. But hey! Im not fan of it & it wasnt
decisive to stop playing!

BUGS
Bullet Runner: The First Slaughter
Prologue - V2.2.1 (GOG, offline installer)
B01-For some reason (maybe ignorance) melee stops pushing the boxes
Its like if the box wasnt there: The hit sound happen but not the push
And arent the pink delimiters: I am trying to push to a clear path
by coincidence, I switched to the web browser to search some reports
or ideas & discovered returning to the vgame menu "Esc"
& waiting a couple of minutes would allow a couple of pushes when resuming
With that clue, I figured the most effective way to me
to solve the bug is to switch weapon ("Tab")
which makes the weapon reel to go foreground
When the vgame scene takes the control,
it takes a couple of seconds to resume like if it would do something
behind the scenes... And guess what: The melee is able to push the boxes :)
B02-I also got the "{ Syntax error }"
when the Skills screen is presented for the first time
(grabbing the tablet)
I am talking about the issue a user reported on the other store forum
As Im playing with keyboard, I noticed "backspace" was enough to return
to the vgame & the subsequent visits to that screen with "backspace"
showed it correctly (I used my skill point!)

I already submited both on your webform with fake name & email
considering we can keep communication here,
but if you need real ones to give me some credit, please let me know ;)

QUESTIONS
Q01-Will the scores have some use?
Q02-Will be possible to destroy furniture?
(Would be cool, while at the same time, distracting...)
Q03-What factors the difficulty level influence?
Health bar? Amount of damage received/given? The number/percentage of refills?
Number of enemies?
Have you considered to have those parameters on the vgame settings?

SUGGESTIONS IF IM ALLOWED
S01-Add a video to your vgame page & more meaningful screenshots
S02-Reconsider to rephrase "This is a free to play early preview
of the massive full game coming out later in 2023"
The couple of bugs I found, it is a solid & lenghty demo to me
S03-Use an easier versioning numbering,
Like that operating system that used desserts to name versions
S04-Long shot: Add another languages, like Spanish... :)
voices would be a dream, but subtitles is fine
I understand you are an Indie team, but please:
Develop your vgame as friendly to future translations.
Pave some hope to the non-English speakers...
until the money rains so hard with your very good vgame :)
S05-Remap some default keyboard controls
If as a non WASD expert Im insulting an ancient unchangeable tradition...
lets blame my ignorance
But, it was a weird scene of me performing the dodge optional mission:
WASD+Shift+(EorR)... All that in a 3x5 keys area!
S06-Use the mouse middle button to switch weapon
(and scrolling it to change to the next weapon)
S07-Export game saves & settings: A totally forgotten topic on vgames!

I'll write my conclusion and provide a "score & review" on the vgame page
once I finish playing this nice demo
(Unfortunately, this store doesnt allow to edit reviews...)
I hope it will take a long happy & joyful time to complete the vgame :)
