there were absolutely no issues of any kind (or changes) on my side.
last visa c/c payment to gog was 20th september, so 8 days ago.
today i get the "card declined" generic message, claiming it is my bank. it is not. knew that, but called anyway, just so i know for sure.

for now, i am just wanting to know if there is a known/reported (acknowledged by gog?) payment issue with credit cards and gog - only in the last few days or week at most.

i'll wait for now, maybe it will self resolve. in a few days or so will try again, and if still no go, take it from there.

fyi; my account page lists the last 6 (yup, tried it a few times, why the heck not..) attempts as "pending" each with a different order and an available green "complete this order" button - which is normal for any failed attempts. there is no sale or event that would make servers unresponsive, so hmmm...

i'll report back in a few days. hope it self corrects...

edit; oh, and fyi, i was trying to LOAD wallet funds, and not buy games. already have wallet funds, and did use them today, so no issue using wallet, but i like to always keep it topped at same amount (for ocd like reasons, and because why not). so issue for me, is not buying games (at least using wallet funds) but trying to put more wallet funds into gog via the normal way as have been for decade + or even longer. (and no, i am not exceeding or trying to, the wallet max. so it is not that.) nothing new on MY side, just repeating what i do every few days, give or take - or just about. yes, i buy games and then reload wallet back to my "top", about 2-4 times/mo. gamers gonna game.

so this is either an actual issue or some "glitch" in the matrix which hopefully gets auto fixed very soon.

Yep it happened to me too. Worked fine the first time, which in my case I guess is a few weeks ago before the anniv. Now I've been unable to use my card anymore, so I switched to a different payment method.

hmmmmmm... and you already switched and that's that? yeah, not sure about that.. why would you simply switch and not try and sort it... but whatever... also very new account, so does not carry as much weight with me as a much older one. yes, i judge. in fact, made just recently, this month, and yet you can say you have a "history" of payment issues? heck, you had no time to build any history. so yeah, i'll pass on your contribution..

If needed, your bank's customer service center can help you investigate the cause of this decline, and offer further assistance. When contacting your bank, you should use "GOG Limited" or "www.gog.com" as reference.

no, you idiot company. it is NOT my bank, anything. i called them, even though i knew i need not, but did anyway, and exactly so i can say this here and now, it is YOU or your side sh!!ting up. if not auto corrected soon (just tried minutes ago same b/s) i won't bother doing anything.. except using up all wallet over time (and you can see how much i use) and then not actually bother with ANYTHING new from here. i am (was already due to politics and other things about you) kinda goin off you anyway, overall, so maybe for the best.
so over last day or so, since posting anyway, i tried a few more time and same b/s...
used different browsers, cleared cookies and logged in fresh, etc..

today too i tried and still nope.. then i "noticed" that the c/c info part does not ask for a name. (for sure, at one time it used to, here on gog. no ifs or buts about that.) this was before i was about to test it a final time. (no changes on my side, but whatever) it worked.. yay? it's either a self corrected issue, or some buggy b/s or "whatever", but as of now it works. well, i'm topped up again (as normal for me) so i will see what's truly what next time..

so i guess gog wants me to keep spending. fine.. ;-)

but.. point remains. did they get rid (they being i suppose visa not really gog) of the name field when using a c/c?

any of you can check without having to actually do anything.. other than go and "add wallet funds" (you're not going to, or even enter ANY details) and then pick c/c as payment method. the next thing will be the c/c panels open up. and just see if you have three (like me) or four. i have c/c #, exp date and ccv. the name field is no longer there, but that may have gone way before and i just noticed, now, having to pay more attention due to this recent b/s. (oh, and i do not, nor have i ever, save my c/c payment info here on gog, so that part is/was a non issue. i always enter it manually and fresh.)

so, (for now?) i stay with gog and spend (often) and hard. so be it... but my "overall gog" rage meter is filling up faster than it is lowering back down.

I guess their payment provider doesn't need a name to process it (also, some card types don't have a printed name on them).

and.. today i loaded wallet once more, with no issues. (as it should be, and has been for 98% of times) so okay, hopefully no more rattlesnake poison... i need calm times in my twilight years, not stress.
