Hey everyone! My apologies for not posting this yesterday, I should have done that.

12 of Retro Classix games (titles developed by Data East and re-published by Ziggurat Interactive) are going to be delisted on April 30th, 2024. The silver lining here is that each of them are discounted -50% until the time of the delisting – here's a link to find them all: https://www.gog.com/promo/retro_classix

And here's a list of the titles:

BAD DUDES VS DRAGONNINJA
Break Thru
Express Raider
Gate of Doom
Heavy Barrel
Joe and Mac: Caveman Ninja
Joe and Mac Returns
Night Slashers
Super Real Darwin
Super Burger Time
Two Crude Dudes
Wizard Fire

Pity. They weren't really of interest to me, but it sucks to see a bunch of classics disappear from the store.
Thank you for notifying. Can you mark this post as sticky, so more people can see it?

Haha, no, I'm not present on the photo there :D

Not that sad to see this go in particular since they (Data East or Ziggurat or both) never bothered to provide the uncensored version alongside the censored one.

Getting a remake that's confirmed to be released on GoG, by the way.

If you are not in this photo either I feel for you. You talk to us. It means a lot. If you could engage in a thread a day you could become a link that scientists are looking for to connect users and admins.
pity :( So there won't be any more data east releases in the future. I (against all chances) was still hoping for Atomic Runner Chelnov
Interested in both Joe and Mac: Caveman Ninja and Joe and Mac Returns.
So they want to remove the games forever or is there a chance to come back?
Gonna try to get the games if i can.
And thanks for mentioning it

A pity indeed. Data East was really one of the major arcade game makers in the 80s/90s. There are so many titles that would be worthy of a re-release: apart from more or less well-known ones like Psycho-Nics Oscar, Karnov, Sly Spy, Midnight Resistance, or the aforementioned Chelnov, I'd be personally more than happy with creative, finely crafted titles such as Rohga: Armor Force, Boogie Wings, or that curious shooter/pinball hybrid, Nitro Ball. Not to mention the Robocop titles. Perhaps we don't need to be so pessimistic about the future. A man can dream...
Eight of these twelve games came to GOG on March, 2nd 2021 - the other four on June, 24th 2021.

They didn't last for long here.
Seems to be a reoccuring theme lately.

Well, I only had a marginal interest in them, and I own the only two, that I have any real interest in, as cartridges for my consoles already, so...shrug.

Right now, they're on offer for 50% off and people who were so far hesitant, still have 13 days left to make a decision.
So, nothing is really lost yet (until April, 30th).

Can't wait to read all the "post-April-30th-threads" ("where's game X? I had it sitting on my WL, but now it's gone!") in the first two weeks after the delisting, from people who missed this news.

Let me guess? they were delisted to make room for this type of trash.

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they ate trash.

Also please do not derail the thread.
I am normally not super-excited of old coin op releases on GOG... but Super Burger Time made me buy the whole set (12 games). The original Burgertime was one of my childhood favorites.

Some said the emulation on the GOG/Steam versions is not optimal. Good thing then if it is easy to just get the ROM zip file from the GOG version and use it with MAME, if it works better there.

EDIT: At least I didn't see any real issue with Super Burger Time, seemed to work great out of the box, playing it with my gamepad. Then again it is maybe one of the less demanding games on the list, with static fixed backgrounds etc.
