Hello there,

I have Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty on GOG Galaxy.

Do I unlock achievments on GOG Galaxy if I run the game on Steam as a non-steam game with GOG Galaxy running in the backward?

I added the game as a non-steam game and I run the game on Steam because GOG Galaxy overlay (fps counter and screenshots) don't work through GOG Galaxy for Cyberpunk.

I haven't tried with that particular game, but, typically, yes. Provided the client is running, you will have access to Galaxy-specific features such as achievements and multiplayer without having launched the game through Galaxy.

Easy way to check. Start the game through Steam, and check the game page on Galaxy. If the purple "Play" button is grayed out, you will earn achievements. If not, then you won't. But there is an easy solution to it, which is to run the Galaxy shortcut through Steam (I do this on my Steam Deck). That will definitely work.

It will be greyed out, assuming the game and Galaxy are running on the same Wine prefix. That's one way to do it. You can also run them in different prefixes and still obtain achievements.

How? I'd be interested in using separate prefixes, for obvious reasons. When I've tried that never worked, so I install everything to the same prefix..

But in his case I assumed he was running Windows, which requires no prefixes.

I use bottles to install, manage, and launch everything. You won't get achievement notifications, but provided the Galaxy client is running, you will obtain them.

I'll try with Bottles. Thanks!
This has to be the dumbest thing i've ever heard!

You bought a DRM-free game, on a DRM-free store, but for some unknown reason want to run it through a third party bloatware, and now you want to run another bloatware on top of the first one in order to get some stupid "achievement" pictures attached to a third party client...

I would think, if you loaded your GoG version game into the Steam version, and then did something worthy of an achievements, then you may get all the achievements to unlock at once.

I think.... maybe.

If you add Cyberpunk as a game to Steam, then you will not get Galaxy achievements.

If you add Galaxy itself (GalaxyClient.exe) as a game to Steam, then edit the launch options like so:
/command=runGame /gameId=1423049311 /path="D:\Game Files\GOG\Games\Cyberpunk 2077"
then you will get Galaxy achievements. Edit your game path above appropriately. Yes the executable itself is not included in the path. See attachment for more details.

If you want achievements, all games must be launched via Galaxy. If you drag Steam into this, then Steam needs to launch Galaxy and Galaxy still needs to launch the game. No Galaxy = no achievements.

Ok thank you for the answers. I managed to get the overlay on GOG with a tip I read on this forum. Is tehre any whay to modify the display of the fps counter like the sie and the colors? It is too large and too much visible while playing.
