After installing the standalone distribution, when you start the game, you need to launch a steam account. Bug?

Did you buy the game on steam? If you did, then Galaxy needs to launch steam so you can play the game.

I buy in the gog store. The pre-release version started normally.

Did you install version 1.5.710.8221? Looks like it was rolled back on Galaxy.
Ask GOG Support to link previous offline installer.
Maybe try version 1.5.685.7919 on Galaxy.

U fortunately that is the entire attitude here now “use our optional client galaxy”. It should be possible to download any released patch or version as it happens with a lot of games that newer versions are broken or lack content of previous versions.
